Title: Pretty Things
Drabble: #29
TK's prompt: Moon
Randomly selected pairing: Jyoura
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: It's funny how one person can make you feel so much better about yourself, isn't it?
Since that ever-so-slightly frightening incident in the Digital world, Sora had been wary of handing control over to Jyou. She knew things were different in the real world; there weren't evil Digimon waiting around every corner. But it didn't make Jyou's attitude any less… well, demanding when he was put in charge of something. He really managed to transform into someone who Sora would rather not disagree with.
Which was why she was quite reluctant to let him arrange a date on his own. She was sure it would be very sweet and he'd try his hardest to make it wonderful, but she feared that the monstrous leader side to his personality might get the better of him.
Nevertheless, she had eventually given in and let him arrange something in secret. And she had to admit, when he wasn't stressing or going mad over it, it was actually rather exciting. This was the first date they'd ever had where she'd had no idea what was going to happen, and she'd be lying if she said it wasn't a welcome rest.
On the day, his attitude still wasn't any calmer. He was twittering about like a mother hen, and he must have checked at least four times that Sora was wearing a thick coat and a lot of layers. It was cold out, after all.
They walked for quite some time, finally stopping in the middle of a dewy field. Sora, perplexed and a little anxious, had asked more than once where they were going and what they were going to be doing. Because what could they possibly do in a field in the middle of the night?
Jyou simply laid out the blanket he'd brought with him and told her to wait and see.
So she did. The red moon was a half, standing out in the clear sky, and she couldn't help but comment on how pretty it was. Jyou agreed, wrapping his arm tightly around her shoulders. But there were prettier things to come.
She gasped when she saw the first signs of the meteor shower, and Jyou turned to her, smiling.
The light shot across the sky, and she was still gaping. He'd taken her out to watch a meteor shower, of his own accord. It was amazing. Her mouth formed a smile and she wrapped her fingers around his.
Maybe letting him be in charge wasn't so bad every once in a while.
