AN: It's almost springtime and I've wanted to write another Carter/Dana fic
so I decided to put the two together.
Dana Mitchell looked out the window of her office. Winter was finally over and spring had just come, and already the weather was warm. She could hear birds singing as well.
Usually she didn't pay attention to these things but these days she did maybe it was because she was in love. And today her husband would return home to her. He had been out of town for four weeks attending a seminar for firefighters.
A fluttering in her stomach caught her attention and she gently touched her stomach, "you miss him to don't you?" In three short months their baby would be born. She looked at the clock almost time to go home.
She gathered up her purse and headed out the door, "bye Susan see you tomorrow."
"Bye Doctor Mitchell go home safe."
"I intend to see you tomorrow."
Dana sat on a bench and watched the ducks in her favorite pond, it held so many special moments for her, the first kiss she and her husband had shared, he had also proposed to her here, and it was where she had told him they would become parents.
It had seemed like an eternity without him but soon she could be happy again. Just then she was brought out of her thoughts when she felt someone kiss her neck, "relax gorgeous I'm a good one."
Dana looked behind her, "Carter!" and quickly embraced him, "you said you'd be coming in later on."
"I wanted to surprise you, Susan was in on it."
"I totally loved it."
"Beautiful day it was winter when I left."
Dana settled into his embrace, "it's also the season for love."
He cupped her chin and she looked into his eyes, "Cupid struck me long ago."
Dana smiled and nodded in agreement as she and her husband stood by their favorite pond enjoying the day.
