Disclaimer: It's not mine. Well, the poem is, but not POTO (regrettably)

A/N: This is just a little something I wrote ages ago. I dug it out of my notebooks, and decided that I might as well post it. It's written in Erik's perspective, and it's kind of angsty.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Falling,

Falling into oblivion.

It welcomes me,

That all-encompassing darkness.

-

So hungry,

Ravenous.

It reaches for me,

Waiting to consume me.

-

Engulfed in darkness,

I am surrounded.

It does not waver,

Does not fade.

-

Lost,

Lost are those wandering souls.

Seeking redemption,

Freedom.

-

They reach for me,

Calling.

Slowly, though, they fade,

Fade back into darkness.

-

Faded is my life,

A shadow of its former self.

Death,

Death draws near.

-

I surrender,

Welcome it with open arms.

Life,

Holds nothing for me anymore.

-

Slowly,

Slowly I step into death's cold embrace.

Like iron, it is unyielding,

Final.

-

Heaven,

Hell.

An Angel of Life,

Or of Death?

-

Judgment.

Atonement for past deeds.

Of those, I know,

There are many.

-

Repentant,

I wait.

What, I wonder,

Will become of me?

-

Am I a spirit of Heaven now?

Bright, exultant.

Or, am I a denizen of Hell?

Somber, malignant.

-

Decided,

Decided is my fate.

Neither an Angel of Heaven,

Or an Angel of Hell.

-

No,

Those are not me.

What I am,

Is an Angel of Music.

So, what did you think? I like to write poetry every now and then, but I'm never sure if it's any good. I'd appreciate it if you would drop me a review and let me know what you think.

It would make Erik happy
