This is only the first of what I believe will be a three part set. Enjoy.
"Now we're probably gonna' die."
"Don't say that. You've been through worse."
He had. But not without his brothers, not without Brains and Tracy Island. Not without dad.
He thought he could manage, he was assured that he could, far too assured and his confidence had done him in this time. He wasn't clever enough, he wasn't strong enough, he wasn't old enough, he was just stuck, floating in space.
Floating further and further from home.
Floating further and further away.
"I've never been this far away from everybody. We're all alone out here." Too far. And there was anything he would give not to be. Anything to just be able to go home, to cover the distance in minutes and be with his family.
"Brains, my brothers, they can't help us."
He needed them. He was still a kid. A kid attempting to grow up too fast, a kid who had lost too much already and stood to lose even more. A kid who didn't believe in himself, a kid who was too distant to believe he could make up the difference.
Thunderbird Three lacked fuel; he lacked belief.
He lacked help. There was no one on the comms to guide him, no one to talk to him, suggest something to him: it was just him, Alan Tracy – 'Rocket Boy'.
"I've known you long enough to be certain that you don't need anybody's help."
He liked to think he didn't, but right now he thought he did.
It was funny what the effect of distance could do to you. For now he was far away, he knew exactly what he wanted and what he'd give for it.
There you go. I hope you liked it. Tomorrow's episode looks good, especially for Gordon.
I'll have the other parts up once I've finished them. Thanks for reading.
