SKY LIKE MEMORIES

In early spring, closer to late winter, she sat on a blanket in a small park. Her lab coat discarded next to a tree trunk. He high heels peeked from beneath her white, ballistics lab coat.

She laid down on her small blue blanket and stared at the sky. The sun did little to warm the crisp - cool air, but it did wonders to warm her face.

Her pale cheeks gained a rosy color, and her lips curled into a smile. Her eyes glazed over in the middle of her thoughts, which allowed her to realize the true beauty of the sky.

Thin - wispy, white clouds blew rather quickly; streaking the electric blue sky that was slowly changing to a blue-grey cobalt with the arrival of dusk.

The beautiful blonde closed her eyes contently, allowing her lashes to show their truly dramatic, dark, length. Her thoughts started with shallow, unimportant ideas. Her shopping list came to mind.

He thoughts stilled on a memory of one person, on a still shot of her strawberry-blonde boss who wore a wide grin.

Her head lulled on the pillow of her blonde locks as she grinned. Content with her thoughts; that is until she realized her 'memories at random' were as far from random as one could get. They were in order of importance, importance to her, importance in her heart. At the idea she shot up, her eyes meeting the now starry sky.

"I'm sorry I startled you. I can go if you want." Horatio Caine stated, running his fingers through his red-blonde hair.

"Never, handsome. Never." she grinned wildly, her starry gaze matched the sky as he sat next to her. "Never'
