Oh god I'm so tired aha! I'm just editing all my fics and making them better. So feel free to read my other edited. This is only 500 words, so I'm going to make it a lot longer!
Ivypool felt the wind-blown snow brush her silver-and-white fur and she struggled to keep forward. For my Clan, I owe them my life. Everybody owes their Clan their life. She turned her head to make sure her patrol was still behind her.
There was no one in sight in miles and she looked around, struggling to move such fast movements in such a cold environment.
"Rosepetal!" she called, looking for her friend she was patrolling with. "Blossomfall? Toadstep!" she shrieked.
No answer.
Where are they? They were right behind me a few minutes ago!
"Someone!" she wailed like a kit lost from it's mother. The snow was piercing her pelt, sending shivers down her spine. She walked around a few more times till she couldn't feel her paws. Where am I? I don't even recognize my own home! Where's camp?
"Help!" she shrieked. Is this the end? Am I really going to die like this? She felt her eyes beginning to close but she fought to keep them open, knowing once she closed them, they'd never open… again.
"Toadstep?" she shrieked, hoping to see a familiar black and white pelt through the thick snow. This is the worst weather I've ever seen! I can't even detect a scent!
She collapsed in a pile of silver and white fur, shivering and teeth gritting together as she froze. How could they just abandon me like that? And leave me out in the snow!
She settled under a snow covered willow tree, struggling to keep herself warm. She snuggled against the roots, praying that StarClan would spare her. This is the stupidest way to die she thought, a tear rolling down her cheek.
She wouldn't let herself give in, and she told herself someone would come find her. They wouldn't stop looking till they found her, she knew it. She curled herself into a tighter ball to keep the cold away. It feels like my whiskers are frozen!
Ivypool knew running around would warm her up but she just couldn't find the strength. She was growing weak and she looked at the sky, she could barely see the stars glittering above. Has time gone that quickly she thought weakly, remembering she led the sunhigh patrol.
She told herself she'd get through this and she'd be fine, just maybe a little cold from being out this long. But the longer she waited the slimmer chances she had.
"Dovewing," she called. Why would Dovewing be out here? She argued against her mind. She's looking for me! I know it! No one could stop me looking for her…
She'd almost given up hope, and was ready to call StarClan to take her quickly, but she was intercepted by a loud yowl.
"Ivypool!"
A glossy red-brown pelt came out of the snow. He stood out brightly against the world of white. Ivypool couldn't even recognize who it was; her vision was blurry with tears of relief.
"Ivypool, oh StarClan, are you alright?" she heard worry in the cat's voice. A tom she realized and she squinted, and then buried her head in her paws in defeat.
"Ivypool, its Foxleap, are you alright?" Foxleap nosed her and his nose was warm on her freezing pelt. She saw concern in his green eyes.
"I'm co-col-cold," she stammered, her voice soft. Foxleap nudged her to her paws and let her rest on his shoulder. He started to lick her and she didn't complain. Her pelt felt red hot where he licked and she closed her eyes in relief.
"Why are you searching for me?" she managed to say. He looked at her confusedly and Ivypool felt her eyes drooping with exhaustion.
"Where's Dovewing? Doesn't she want to find me…" her voice trailed off and she felt her eyes close however much she tried to fight it.
Life is good she leapt through the warm Newleaf branches of her territory. It feels like I'm the only cat in the whole world! She raced through the green leaves scattered across the forest floor.
"That's because you are," she skidded to a halt, shooting a pile of leaves onto a tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat with round green eyes.
"Sorreltail!" Ivypool exclaimed. Sorreltail nodded and Ivypool felt a pang of pain as she remembered the she-cat's death in the midst of battle with the Darkforest cats.
"It's not your time yet Ivypool, you need to go back," Ivypool cocked her head to the side, utterly confused.
"I'm back, I'm at home…"
"This isn't your home Ivypool, this is StarClan," a blast of coldness brushed over her and she was brought back to reality.
Her eyes flickered open, the dream still fresh in her mind. Whitewing was looming over her, green eyes huge with happiness.
"Oh StarClan, Ivypool!" Whitewing covered her with rapid licks. "Are you alright?" Birchfall was behind her, his eyes stern.
"Where were you? You know better than to go wandering off!" Birchfall scolded and Ivypool felt her pelt bristle.
"Oh come on! My patrol abandoned me and left me for StarClan, go yell at them," she spat Birchfall, her father, anger in her dark blue eyes.
"Birchfall, she could've died!" Dovewing was there now, and she was looking at Ivypool with thankful eyes.
Ivypool wasn't thankful for her help, or any of their affectionate feelings. She pushed them away, getting to her paws.
"Sure my patrol left me in the snow. But to me, all of you-" she cast accusing looks at Birchfall, Whitewing, and Dovewing, especially Dovewing. I'd go mental if I couldn't find her! "-left me in the snow. I didn't see you looking for me… instead, Foxleap rescued me!"
She pushed past them and out into the clearing, ignoring everyone else's frantic questions and her patrol's urgent apologies.
"Leave me alone!" she snapped, looking for one cat in particular. The cats backed off at her leave-me-alone tone.
She spotted the ginger tom grooming under the Highledge. Foxleap she remembered and she walked slowly up to him. He stopped mid-lick and gazed at her with concern in his green eyes.
"Ivypool," he started but Ivypool didn't let him finish, cornering him into the ledge. Her eyes shone with gratitude.
"Why were you looking for me? Why didn't Dovewing or someone find me, I mean, no offence-" his eyes glittered with amusement. "We aren't exactly best of friends, why did you save me?"
Foxleap shook his head, amused. "Oh Ivypool…"
"My family didn't care, but you did!" she stopped, knowing this was going down a road she was scared of.
Ivypool leaned forward and pressed her nose to his ear. "Thank you," she leaned back, and he gazed into her dark blue eyes.
"Anytime…"
I hope you liked it! Because now it's 1000+ words… I'm just so smart! Anyway, love you all you amazing reviewers! Constructive criticism is welcome, but flames will be used to roast marshmallows, and I like marshmallows so you're doing me a favour
