A beautiful doll sits on a throne inside a glass castle; a doll with cerulean colored eyes and skin so pale it seemed translucent, with a dandy body to match. Red silk wrapped the doll's body, it stretched far out on the floor; bare feet and a golden crown on the doll's head: fit for a ruler. The glass castle stood tall, and high away from the crashing waves below that threatened to make it crumble with each lick against the rock on which it was built.

Each day the doll sits on the throne waiting, and waiting; how long has it been now since the doll waits? But what does the doll wait for? Each morning the doll wakes to see the reflection staring back and stares back until night falls once again and the doll succumbs to what may seem to be an eternity of darkness. How long must this porcelain doll wait? Not long now the doll figures as the darkness of the night pours slowly through the glass castle doors, and a tall figure enters with a smile of innocence that made the doll shiver in fear at the child like smile.

"Are you alone?" The figure asked hidden behind the shadows now.

"Yes." The doll whispered.

"Are you afraid?" the figured asked, but now the shadows was closer then before.

"No." The doll whispered again, trying to hide the fear.

"Lying to me makes me want to rip out your throat; so that the sinful act does not taint your beautiful image." the figured hissed from behind the shadows that were now before the doll.

"I am the ruler of this place will you risk your life to make sure my image remains intact?" The doll asked.

"Yes and so much more...let me devour you so that you may die beautiful."

"If you eat me will we be together forever?" The doll asked approaching the figure.

"Are you lonely?" Bright red eyes stared from beyond the shadows and a hand reached out to touch the doll.

"If you set me free, I will let you eat me." The doll said resting against the hand.

Another hand reached out and slowly pulled the beautiful doll in, as the darkness consumed the doll a sinister laughter filled the room. The grand glass castle began to shake and rumble as it began to crumble away falling quietly to the hungry waves down below and the rock on which it stood fade to dust along with the wind. The castle protected the doll from the figure behind the shadows all this time, but what did that matter now? The doll was free.
