"Ah, crap. I fell for it! That's right. No wait. That's not… just… calm down a second, Kyo." I stared at the 'visiting hours have ended for today' sign. "I'm genna kill that rat; going on and on about how he wanted to be like me." I started back to the house feeling played. WHAM! I stumbled back rubbing my forehead. "What the-" I looked up at the thick piece of metal hanging horizontily above the side walk. I looked higher and realized it was a fire escape. I grabbed the closest rung and pulled my self up towards the ladder. I climbed up the ladder- I was going to go sit on the roof to cool off. When I past a window with its blinds wide open. I stopped and looked in. sleeping in a bed parallel to the window was Tohru. I climbed on the fire escape on her window and sat on the railing. I smiled; who else would leave their blinds wide open but her. I looked at her. she had a bandage wrapped around her hand, several stitches on her arms. Even with her back facing me and the dim light I could see the three thin white scars I had given her. thinking about it made my chest hurt. I remebered the first time I said her name. "Tohru." The word was still alien to me. I'd only ever used that name 3 times and never not once to her face. I felt like punching myself- why couldn't I just call her by her name. but. I knew that answer. And now, so did she. I remembered the time she'd swung her bag at me because she thought I was a stalker. I guest watching her sleep in a four story building wasn't helping that. She stirred in her sleep and I wonderd what she was dreaming about. She turned over so she was now facing me. She had bandages on her cheeks. Her eyes opened and focused on me slowly. she sat up quickly then put her hands to her head and fell back down. I jumped off the rail and put my hands on the cold glass. "Tohru!" she sat back up again, slower this time. She said something but I guessed the glass was sound proof. I breathed on the glass making a large white patch. Then with my index finger I wrote backwards: Your really stupid, you know that? Now get some sleep I'll come see you later i stepped back hoping it was legible. I looked through stupid and saw she was crying so I guest it was or her head really hurt. I turned and jumped off the fire escape.
