Theme 25 – Hair
Summary: Raven loved his hair, especially in the morning. The mess of black waves was soft and tousled, resting against the pillow without all the gel. She loved to run her hands through the dark tresses, starting at his scalp and letting is slowly slide through her fingers as she reached the edges.
"You wake up next to me/I love you/can you see." – Edward Maya
Sunlight streamed in through the window, slowly illuminating all the shadows on the floor until it finally reached the bed. Amethyst eyes gradually opened, followed by a yawn. Raven shifted herself so she was laying on her back and put her arms up, stretching them from her fingertips to her shoulders. She brought them back down before she sat up. She leaned on her right arm as her left hand came to brush back the dark locks of hair falling in her face. Raven blinked away the sleep in her eyes as they settled on the still slumbering form of her leader and lover.
Robin was lying on his back with his left arm at his side and his right across his muscular chest. Long, dark lashes rested on the apples of his cheeks and his mouth was open just slightly while he breathed. His face was, for once, relaxed. His jaw wasn't clenched and his eyebrows weren't furrowed together in stress. Wisps of black hair fell on his forehead while the rest of his hair lay on the pillow.
Gently, Raven brought her left hand to his brow, smoothing the black tresses from his face. Her hand continued to move, her fingers winding through the soft waves. Robin moaned lightly in his sleep. Raven smiled ever slightly and continued running her hand throughout his hair. The dark locks were so soft and just long enough that they reached the nape of his neck. She ran her hand all the way through until the tresses slid from her fingers, only for her to bring her hand back to his crown and start again.
Robin moved as he was gently coaxed out of sleep. Blue eyes fluttered open and he couldn't help the smile that crossed his face at the sight in front of him. There was Raven staring down at him, the sunlight irradiating her from behind, making her glow. Her amethyst eyes were lidded with sleep and he could feel her tiny hand atop his head, lovingly stroking his hair. His t-shirt was too big on her and the right sleeve had slipped far beyond her shoulder. Robin sat up on his elbows and smiled brilliantly at her, one eye closed to block the light flooding in.
"G'morning," he said, his voice deep and husky from lack of use. Raven smiled softly at him as she took her hand away from his hair, a bit reluctantly.
"Morning," she replied. Robin reached for the hand she had just taken back and brought it to his mouth, pressing a kiss to her knuckles before threading his fingers through hers.
