UPDATE: THE FIRST CHAPTER TO MY REVISED STORY HAS BEEN POSTED!
Dear my few beloved readers,
It's been quite some time since I've updated this story. To be honest, I had full intentions of abandoning it, until some experiences in my life sparked a newfound inspiration to write and hopefully complete this story.
That being said, I also believe I have become a much more polished writer in the past 4 years which was when this story was first published. Upon going back and rereading everything that I had already written, I was determined to have my writing in this story reflect the kind of writer that I am today, and currently it is not what I would like it to be. Over the past month or so, I have begun to go through and edit each chapter immensely, working on character development, timeline errors, grammar, language, etc. I have realized that this story needs an immense amount of work, and with this newfound passion for this story I fully intend on giving it the work and love that it deserves.
This brings me the most recent reviewer, Eva. You have touched upon EVERYTHING that I was extremely critical about in this story. After my recent revisit to this story, I found my characterization of Tavington incredibly soft and just "meh". So my first goal with him is to make him much more brutal towards Sophia and towards others. Sophia was also a huge problem. I wanted her to be this spitfire, but she just comes off as a brat who gets into something way over her head. Her relationship with Gabriel also doesn't seem to make much sense. To be honest, I loved these characters so much in my head when I created them, that it was hard for me to make them even remotely annoying in writing. That's going to change. Grammar-wise: it needs work, but that just comes with rereading and rereading again. As for the deletion of you review, I think that you can delete it when you find that it is no longer relevant, and my story no longer reflects your criticism. But I can't thank you enough for your review because it has inspired me to write this note and tell my few readers where I stand with this story, and my hopes for its future.
Finally, I'd like to let my readers know what is to come. Once my first chapter is edited and ready for republishing I will post it, but will also deleted the rest of this story, and then post each new chapter when it is ready. If you are willing to stick around, I'd love for all like 20 of you to enjoy this story as if it's a completely new piece of writing. There will be new plot points and twists, and most importantly, completely new, polished, and hopefully relatable characters. Thanks again to everyone who has stuck with me up to this point; I'm excited to start fresh and have both you and I enjoy this reset.
Love,
A-Heavy-Heart
