Gai had always admired his Captain. Since he saw him on a news television broadcast, since before he even became Gokai Silver, before he joined the crew. He admired the way his left eye seemed to twitch with laughter. He tried his best to make Marvelous laugh more often after that discovery. In the few weeks on board he learned how grateful Marvelous was when anyone brought home meet from the market. That day Gai almost lost his footing and breath as the raven haired pirate brought him into a playful headlock. Contact. Actual skin-to-skin contact. He made appoint to be the only one that shops from then-on. He also learns that Marvelous is not one for modesty. His casual dress code could range to head to toe or even just boxer shorts. Though the rest of the crew has banded it. When you're alone Gai says it's perfectly fine for him to do that. He likes to think that he's earned a place on his good side for that. It was an accident. He fell, it could happen to anyone. And on top of anyone but out of the all the pirates it had to be Marvelous. Those two seconds last an eternity in his mind, just staring into coffee stained eyes before scrambling off of him and showering him in apologies. Marvelous doesn't talk to him for two days.
Until that night when Marvelous came down for a snack when it was just the two of them. There were no words just the soft creaking of the refrigerator door as it was left abandoned while Marvelous pined the boy to the counter, earning a sharp gasp. He doesn't wait for permission because the look in Gai's hazel brown eyes says it all. A pleading look. Like he hopes he'll kiss him. And he does. It's not gentle nor rough but the human's lips grew swollen with every moan emitted from his throat. He was a lean, skinny boy so it wasn't very difficult to host him up onto the counter-top where Marvelous could have better access to the buttons on his pants. Gai breaks the kiss, gasping for breath. "Something wrong?" Marvelous asks, a tear of saliva running from his lips. "Well I uh," He leans to whispers quietly, "I've never ya know- before." As if someone could hear. Marvelous sighs, looking touch annoyed and Gai wonders if he just ruined the only chance he even had of being with him. But Marvelous is, as he learned a very surprising man. "Alright." He's drawing it out, now knowing what do as an alternative. "I can still kiss you, right? I mean, you're like fine with me kissin' you and stuff like that?" Gai shaking his head so hard he though his neck would snap. Of course. "Yes." He breathed as Marvelous' lips meet his in a hot frenzy.
When Don walks in into the kitchen the following morning, it's a mess. Salt and pepper shakers had fallen off the counter, as did the baking flour and a few cooking utensils and he's positive that breakfast won't be finished on time.
