What It Really Meant

I do not own Naruto.

Prologue

Konoha Academy had only a handful of rules and stipulations that each student and teacher had to follow to the letter.

No weapons on school grounds; enforced by the security check at every entrance of the school.

No training outside of class hours; enforced by teachers throughout campus.

No cheating; enforced by Ibiki Morino.

No jutsus; enforced by chakra suppressing seals, located in every room of the campus.

If caught breaking the rules a total of 3 times you get taken to the Council. The Council encompasses:

The 3rd Hokage- Hiruzen Sarutobi

Council Elder- Homura Mitokado

Council Elder- Koharu Utatane

Council Elder- Danzo Shimura

The council then makes the decision on what your punishment shall be. It can range from cleaning the Academy Hall for a month to permanent exile from Konoha Academy. If given permission to come back to the Academy, all of your strikes will be cancelled and you start back at 0.

This was the format and layout of the Handbook given to me on my first day of entering Konoha Academy. On the very last page of the incredibly short handbook was a single phrase,

'CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT'

Written just like that.

At the time, I knew it was a bit weird but thought nothing of it. No that is a lie, I went through my entire first year of the Academy thinking nothing of it. I followed the handbook to the T, I mean how could I not it was beyond simple. Too easy.

I soon came to learn that in fact was not the case, not at all.

In my second year of the Academy, I learned a lesson that will forever be engraved in my very being. A lesson that will teach me what it really meant to look underneath the underneath.
