I look down at my young son and marvel. To think he's mine. He's just so tiny. My messy black hair, Lily's emerald green eyes. He's like a little Angel. We're all standing there looking at the small person my wife and I created. He's precious. I never excepted to have children. Hell I was scared when Lily told me she was expecting. It was nerve racking and just plain out scary.
Flash back
Would I be a good father?
Will my kid like me?
Would Lily let me curse around the house?
All those were questions ran through my head when she told me. Damn I passed out from shock. So after Lily woke me up, I blacked out, I didn't faint because men don't faint, I told her I was happy. Because truthfully, I was, scared shitless, but happy.
So when she left to go tell her mother, I did what any man in my position would do. I grabbed my car keys and drove as fast as I could to the flat my Remus and Sirius shared since we got out of Hogwarts. I jump out of my car and ran up the stairs. I start pounding on the door as hard as I could, begging all the God's out there that those two aren't at it again. Seriously, those two have been together since 5th year, you'd think they'd give it a rest already.
But I'm getting off topic here. Anyways the door open's and Sirius looks about ready to kill me. He's about to punch me for interrupting whatever he and Remus were doing when I blurt out
"Lily's pregnant".
He stands there mouth hanging, eyes wide, and half naked. After the shock of my secret has been wiped of his face he replied
"Well, um, so this is not what I expected. Figured you two would become parents eventually though. Come in"
I walk into his small living room and sit on the couch.
"Be right back" He says
"What you and Moony gonna finally put some clothes on. I'm honored."
"Shut up"
Ha-ha. That never gets old. Anywho after like 10 minutes they both come out fully clothed. Sirius goes into the kitchen to retrieve beer and Remus sits beside me on the couch.
"Hey Prongs what's up" he asks.
"Nothing much, but oh Lily's going to have a baby" I say.
"Really! That's great! Congratulations!"
"James move over. I wanna sit on the couch" Sirius yells as he jumps in between Remus and me holding a case of beer.
"Padfoot do we really need that much beer." Remus asks half annoyed and half amused.
"Yes we do. So tell us James my boy, why your here and not with Lily" Sirius asks.
"She's at her parents telling them. And I came to ask you guys if you think I would make a good dad. I mean I know nothing about babies and what happens if the kid doesn't like me and what if I'm an awful parent and -"
Slap!
"What the bloody hell was that for" I asked looking at the former Black heir.
"Your being an idiot. And I had to shut you up" he says with a smug grin on his face.
"James, you'll do fine. No parent knows this stuff from the beginning, you learn as you go. So don't worry." Moony says.
'Yeah and if you suck, Lily can take care of it" Sirius adds.
"Yeah I guess you're right, well I'd better get going. See if Lily's back." I stand up and wave to them feeling better than I did when I came in.
"Wait! James where did you park your car?" Remus asks.
"Why" I replied baffled.
"Because it's being towed away"
Damn.
End of flash back.
"What's his name" Sirius asks.
"Harry James Potter"
