A Letter,

So small and insignificant,

Until that day,

That day it arrived.

A messenger on horseback,

A letter from the capital,

Did my beloved see sense?

Did he finally get rid of that witch?

Alas, No.

The little white letter,

A death sentence,

Those cold words,

"You are of no use to me. Commit suicide,"

How I long to see his face,

Feel his breath upon my lips

But no longer,

I will no longer be able to feel at all.

I wish it hadn't come to this,

That witch Guo enchanted him,

A fall of a nation,

To her cruel hands.

No time for goodbyes,

Just a note, a tear and then a swift exit,

Out in to the cold,

Out to end it all on the bleak day.

A river with crystal cool water,

Snow on trees, bird song,

Peace, eternal peace,

I breathe no more.

No more will I see his smile,

His face, His voice,

It fades away to darkness,

Time to start anew.

AN: and that's it. Based on the historical event when Cao Pi ordered Zhen Ji to commit suicide. I find myself hating Guo more than Cao Pi though. I think Guo was the one who caused Zhen Ji's death not Cao Pi…although he was also slightly at fault… I just feel really sorry for Zhen Ji…first Yuan Xi and now Cao Pi. She doesn't have much luck with men. I don't like the idea of Zhen Ji being eternally sorrowful. It's depressing. I thinks it'd be good if she's happy now.
