"Welcome Back to Wawanakwa (Part I)"
As the camera panned in towards the dock of shame, Chris is seen standing at the end. "Chris McLean here, your host with the most, coming to you live from a newly rejuvenated Camp Wawanakwa with the fifth season of Total Drama!" Chris kicked off the show with a smile. "Last season we saw thirteen all new contestants battle it out for the $1,000,000 prize, which resulted in a brains vs braun finale as Lightning and Cameron went head to head!" he continued, whilst a summary video of the finale of season four played.
Chris continued to re-cap season 4 whilst walking towards the campfire area where the contestants were waiting. "Ultimately, though, Cameron proved that a muscled physique just wasn't enough and came out on top, winning the million dollar jackpot! After deciding he didn't need the money for his bubble anymore, Cameron generously split the prize thirteen ways, giving each of his fellow campers an equal cut of the million. Where's my cut, Cameron? Not cool!" Chris shook his head, squinting his eyes to Cameron, standing off to the right, who let out a nervous giggle.
"This season we're back with an all new cash prize, and a star-studded string of campers, as all of the contestants from seasons past are returning for another chance at the million." Chris introduced the season. "Well... almost all." He muttered under his breath, before trying to change the topic.
"Anyhow!" Chris laughed uncomfortably. "Here comes the first of our returnees, returning after placing 9th in Revenge of the Island, Military man Brick!" He beamed as the cadet climbed down from the boat and onto the dock.
"Yes, sir!" Brick saluted his host. "Reporting for duty!"
"At ease, Solider!" Chris stifled a chuckle. "Now, how do you feel about being back on the newly rejuvenated Camp Wawanakwa?"
"It's great to be back!" Brick smiled, ceasing his salute and letting his bags drop to the floor. "I'm in it to win it this time and I'm not going to let Jo or Lightning stand in my way."
"Optimism... I like it." Chris grinned. "Makes it all the more fun when crushing your hopes like a peanut." He snickered.
"Thanks!" Brick beamed proudly. "Wait, wha-?"
"Looks like our second competitor has arrived!" Chris clasped his hands together as Brick took the hint and continued down the dock. "Season one veteran returning for the first time; give it up for Anger-prone Eva!"
"I've been taking classes for that!" Eva barked at the host, grabbing his collar. After breathing heavily through her nostrils with her hazel eyes flared for a few moments, Eva came to her senses and put the raven-haired man down, dusting his shoulders off after doing so. "Sorry. It's a touchy subject, y'know?"
Chris glared at the female bodybuilder. "You're telling me." He grumbled, continuing to de-wrinkle his clothes from where Eva left off.
Eva rolled her eyes. "Whatever. I've apologised. That's what my therapist said to do after an outburst."
"Just... go and stand by Brick." Chris pointed at the cadet, frowning at Eva as he did so.
Accordingly, Eva picked up her duffel bag and walked over to her new camp-mate. She looked the boy up and down and then nodded. "Private."
Like clockwork, Brick saluted. "Yes, ma'am!"
Chris rolled his eyes at the Cadet, before turning to face the camera once again. "Now, contestant number three: Total Drama's wild-eyed, clinically insane redhead, Izzy!"
On cue Izzy leapt off from her boat, which hadn't even pulled up to the dock yet, ready to greet Chris. "Hazzah!" She exclaimed after making a perfect landing. "What's up, muchachos?"
"Nice to have you back after your little injury in Jamaica during World Tour!" Chris greeted the girl. "And I'm not just saying that because you're ratings gold... Totally not..."
"Chrissy, you're making me blush!" Izzy chuckled, a hand on her cheek.
Chris glared at her in response. "You pushed it." He deadpanned. "Over there." He ordered, pointing to Brick and Eva.
Izzy strolled over to the duo, until she stopped and pointed out something. "Woah! Have you, like, ever noticed how similar you two look?!"
Brick furrowed his brow whilst Eva raised hers, both turning to face each other. "I don't see it." They both said in unison.
"From one redheaded contestant to another, here comes our fourth competitor!" Chris revealed. "Devious dirt farmer, Scott!"
Without his life-support suit, Scott stepped onto the dock from his boat. "Chris, I swear if you brought that bore-fest that calls herself Zoey, and that stupid bubble-boy Cameron back, you'll regret it. I just got out of the trauma-chair last month because of you and Zoey! And Cameron... he just annoys me, too."
"Hey!" Brick frowned. "They're my friends you're talking about. Lay off!"
"Ooh, I'm so scared!" Scott rolled his eyes. "Give it a rest, cry-baby Cadet."
Brick shook his head. "I'm not even going to bother giving you the attention that you crave."
"We're not even at the first commercial break and there's already a conflict!" Chris smiled in achievement. "Brilliant!"
"Whatever." Scott grumbled, barging past the trio and tossing his bags down onto the dock.
(Confessional)
Brick: "I've only been on the island for five minutes and already I've gotten myself embroiled in a fight. What's wrong with me?!"
Scott: "Brick's all talk and no walk. The guy's afraid of the dark for goodness sake."
(End Confessional)
Tapping his foot impatiently, Chris whipped out his mobile phone. "Where's the next boat?" He asked rather aggressively. "It should be here by now. Delayed? You're kidding me! Send the next one in then and make it fast."
"Ooh, whose boat go boom-boom?" Izzy flashed a wide grin. "Was it Heather's?!"
"That's none of your business!" Chris snapped. "The next boat should be here soon enough."
A few moments later, the next boat arrived at the dock, clearly going at a fast speed in order to not hold up the show.
"Ooh! That trip was rough!" LeShawna rubbed her stomach. "I kept telling the driver to slow down but he wasn't taking it! Did you put him up to this, Chris?" She glared.
"Viewers, give it up for the loud and proud LeShawna!" Chris greeted. "Would I do that to you?"
LeShawna narrowed her eyes. "Uh... Yeah you would!"
"Oh yeah, I would, wouldn't I?" Chris chuckled as LeShawna gave him an unimpressed glare.
"Back off my girl." Came a voice from the end of the dock. Everyone turned to see Harold's scrawny frame with a keyboard under his arm. "I don't appreciate you treating her like that."
"Ladies and Gentleman, the dork with the self-called mad skills: Harold!" Chris laughed at the boy.
"I'm being serious, Chris." Harold glared. "GOSH!"
"Hold the phone..." Izzy narrowed her eyes slightly. "I thought you two broke up a couple seasons ago?!"
"We did," LeShawna began. "But we met up between seasons and we really hit it off again, so I decided to give Harold over here another chance. I don't even remember why I let him go in the first place!"
"Obviously, you missed my mad skills!" Harold winked.
LeShawna sighed. "Don't push it, Harold baby. We talked about your 'mad skills', remember?"
"Sorry, LeShawna..." Harold muttered.
"Oh, come here, you," LeShawna opened her arms to embrace Harold. "You got nothin' to be sorry for, just, cut back on the mad skills references, 'kay?"
"I'll try!" Harold promised his girlfriend from within her strong embrace.
"Enough of that mushy stuff, let's get a real competitor out! Here's revenge-driven, cranky C.I.T. Courtney!" Chris announced as Courtney's boat arrived at the dock.
"I am not cranky!" Courtney snapped, stepping down from the boat. "Just because I stand my ground does not mean that I am cranky!"
"If you say so..." Chris rolled his eyes. "I would say it's nice to have you back, but..."
"Oh, hah-hah!" Courtney narrowed her eyes. "Where's Gwen? Is she here yet?!"
"Sadly, she isn't." Chris sighed. "She was supposed to be here before you but her boat broke down; typical."
"Hah! Serves her right." Courtney laughed. "And when she gets here, she'll have me to deal with."
"Pardon me for intruding, ma'am, but are you sure that's a good idea?" Brick questioned the CIT. "Surely that will only make you a target for votes, even if Gwen is in the wrong or not."
"What do you mean 'or not'?" Courtney scowled. "Of course Gothy's in the wrong!"
"That's irrelevant; did you even listen to what I said?" Brick asked the revenge-driven girl in front of him.
"Yes, I did, actually." Courtney informed him. "And I understand where you're coming from... Maybe, and that's a definite maybe, I'll play it calm for now and see how it goes... I'm not making any promises, though."
"Wouldn't expect you to, ma'am." Brick smiled.
"Next up is the not-so-antagonistic male model... Justin!" Chris clapped his hands together as Justin stood shirtless on his boat.
"Chris, man, great to see you again." Justin flashed a smile at the host.
"Nice to see you, too, Justin." Chris greeted the teen.
Justin smirked. "When isn't it?"
Scott rolled his eyes at how narcissistic Justin was. "Get over yourself, Pretty boy."
"You say that like it's a bad thing." Justin chuckled.
"Next up, the Jersey Shore reject herself, tan-in-a-can, Anne Maria!" Chris introduced the former Revenge of the Island contestant.
"What you saying about my tan?" Anne Maria scowled as she lathered her hair in hairspray.
"Nothing, nothing..." Chris lied. "Just don't go quitting the show over some phony diamond this time round, m'kay?"
"Hilarious." Anne Maria narrowed her eyes as she walked past the host, engulfing him in a cloud of hairspray fumes.
"N-Now for season th-three's winner, the strategic Spaniard, Heather's Latino l-lover," Chris coughed vigorously. "Alejandro!"
"So this is what the infamous Wawanakwa is like..." Alejandro uttered as he observed his surroundings. "Interesting."
"Oh, hello, handsome!" Anne Maria purred as her eyes rested upon Alejandro. "Anne Maria. Pleased to meet ya."
"Likewise." Alejandro smiled in return.
"Let's pour some salt in the wounds of our next contestant: Beach Babe Bridgette!" Chris introduced the surfer girl, who last competed in Total Drama World Tour.
"What wounds?" Bridgette asked, until her eyes came to Alejandro. "Oh... those wounds."
"I'm sorry for my behaviour back in World Tour, Bridgette," Alejandro tried to apologise to the surfer chick. "I truly am."
"Whatever," Bridgette uttered, walking past the Latino. "I'm over it. Just... don't talk to me."
"Charming as ever, Al." Chris chuckled, making Alejandro grit his teeth in annoyance. "Anyhow, our twelfth arrival is here, everyone! Season one winner: Owen!"
"Chris, man!" Owen smiled. "Great to be here again! Oh how I missed this place!"
Chris raised a brow. "Really?"
"Of course!" Owen replied. "The gourmet food, the awesome cabins, the great people, what's not to love?"
"I don't think I should answer that..." Chris responded. "Now, could you join the others? Y'know, to make way for the next returnee?"
"Oh, yeah, sorry!" Owen chuckled, heading over to the other Total Drama competitors.
"Now, from one All-Star to another – the Queen of Mean, whose ice cold heart thawed in season three when she fell for Spanish hotty Alejandro... Heather!"
"I did not fall for Alejandro." Heather glared. "If anything, he fell for me."
"'Course you didn't." Chris rolled his eyes. "Now, go mingle with your friends. Your boyfriend's already here!"
"HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" Heather snapped, frightening Chris.
"Touchy?" Chris flared his eyes. "Our thirteenth competitor, also known as the Revenge of the Island Romeo, is none other than Multiple Mike!"
"Hey, Chris!" Mike smiled, stepping off of his boat. "What's up?"
"Hosting a new season, as I do." Chris replied. "Also here is the Juliet to Mike's Romeo, the female powerhouse of last season, Zoey!"
"I wouldn't exactly call myself a 'powerhouse'..." Zoey blushed. "Mike!" She beamed, spotting her boyfriend and embracing him in a hug. "I missed you!"
"Ah, young love..." Chris uttered, eyeing the couple. "Disgusting."
"What a revolting thing to see." A voice grumbled from the end of the dock.
"Ah, Jo! Nice to have you back." Chris smiled, then glared at Zoey and Mike. "Revolting, ain't it?"
Jo shrugged. "I was referring to the island but if the boot fits."
"I should've seen that coming." Chris rolled his eyes. "Go join your camp-mates."
Jo picked up her bags and made her way over to those that had arrived before her. "Pants-wet Cadet."
Brick frowned at the greeting Jo had given him. "That insult didn't sound as witty as they usually do..."
"Is that a complaint?" Jo raised a brow; her voice intimidating the Cadet.
"No, sir-er-ma'am!" Brick saluted.
"Good." Jo uttered, before walking past her adversary.
(Confessional)
Brick: "What was that all about?"
(End Confessional)
Chris then turned to see the next boat approaching. "If I'm writing, next up we should have-"
"WOO-HOO!" A loud voice hollered. As the boat drew nearer, it was evident that the passenger was none other than Tyler.
"The loveable jock: Tyler!" Chris grinned. "Who last appeared in World Tour, where he failed to merge... for the second time in a row."
"Hey, man! Nice to see you!" Tyler smiled, before the boat suddenly came to a stop, vaulting him off and onto the dock.
Chris couldn't help but laugh at the jocks crippled figure lying on the ground. "Good to see you, too, Tyler. I'll be nice and let you get to the others on your own time..."
Tyler raised his hand slightly, showing a thumbs up.
"While Tyler... recuperates... I've just been informed that Gwen's boat was fixed and should be here any moment now. Exciting!" Chris clapped his hands together.
Courtney rolled her eyes. "Great..." She moaned, before spotting Brick giving her a concerned look. "Don't worry, I'll bite my tongue..."
"Say, Chris, why do we each have our own boat anyway?" LeShawna questioned the host. "Isn't that just a waste of the show's money?"
"What can I say? I'm pulling out all the stops this season." Chris flashed a smile. "You should be grateful."
"Oh, I-"
"Looks like Gwen's here!" Chris announced as the next boat pulled up at the dock.
"Regretfully." Gwen uttered, unamused.
"As happy-go-lucky as ever I see?" Chris smirked. "Go join the others."
Gwen sighed, before doing as the host instructed. In doing so, she noticed Courtney, who was trying her best to avoid eye contact, yet look natural at the same time.
(Confessional)
Gwen: "Typical. Courtney's blanking me. How mature."
(End Confessional)
"Ah... now is where the fun starts..." Chris grinned as he saw the next boat approaching. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back..." He paused, waiting for the boat to pull up. "... Duncan!"
"Oh, come on!" Courtney groaned.
Duncan took a moment to look at the island. "Cruddy as ever, huh?" He uttered, before he spotted Gwen. "Hey, babe!"
"Hey." Gwen smiled as Duncan approached her. "It's so good to see you again! It sucks that it's here of all places, though..."
"Oh well, 'least I've got you." Duncan returned the gesture as Chris mimed throwing up.
Gwen tried to keep herself but gave in, until she caught Courtney's unsettlingly disapproving glare in the corner of her eye. "Maybe we should stop?" She uttered quietly, tilting her head in Courtney's direction.
Duncan furrowed his brow. "Who cares what she thinks?"
"Well, it's unfair on her..." Gwen confessed guiltily. "Just not in front of everyone, 'kay?"
"You're the boss." Duncan flashed another smile.
"Actually," A voice uttered from behind the couple. "My great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great Grandfather was the original boss. He basically invented managerial staff, yah, uh-huh."
"Chatty Staci..." Chris groaned. "How did you make it back again?"
"You invited me!" Staci chuckled.
Chris face-palmed. "I really shouldn't make this kind of decision when I'm-"
"Drunk?" Another familiar voice concluded Chris's sentence as their boat pulled up. "How professional."
"Ah, Noah, the sarcastic cynic," Chris turned to the bookworm. "I would say your arrival was anticipated by myself, but..."
"Hilarious." Noah rolled his eyes. "You should write that down."
"I would, but our next competitor is here!" Chris beamed. "Revenge of the Island's animal whisperer, Dawn!"
"Greetings," Dawn smiled politely. "I see the island is relatively toxic waste-free now. How was your time in prison?"
"You really don't waste any time getting to the questions, do you?" Chris glared at the moonchild who simply blinked. "Prison was okay actually, if you must know."
Dawn nodded her head before continuing on her way past the host and standing beside her fellow campers.
"Not too close." Justin lifted his hand out to keep his distance from the girl.
"Next up, we have three-time-veteran, DJ!" Chris greeted the loveable brick-house. "Welcome back, man!"
"Good to be back, Chris!" DJ smiled at the host and then at his camp-mates. "Hey guys, nice to see you all!"
"Awesome to see ya again, Deej." Duncan high-fived the big softy. "How ya been?"
"I've been good, yeah, glad to be back surprisingly." DJ laughed. "I thought I'd hate being back on this island, but I'm kind of excited."
"Oh, don't be." Chris snickered. "I've got lots of pain in store for you guys..."
"If that's the case then I better be exempt from such challenges." Blaineley stepped off of her boat. "I'm only back on this show to expand my resume, not to lose my looks."
"You'll need to find 'em first." Chris quipped.
"Another joke like that and I'll destroy your whole career in one phone-call." Baineley snapped.
Chris tried to keep in his laughter, but couldn't. "Bitcherific Blaineley, everybody!" He clapped his hands. "Next up is bubble-boy Cameron, AKA, the winner of last season!"
Cameron's boat was the next to dock. He smiled politely as he stepped down onto the wooden Dock of Shame. "I still can't believe I won last season!"
"That reduces your chances of winning this season tremendously." Harold commented. "Why bother returning?"
"Well, I made lots of frien-"
"Conracts, dude." Chris informed the ginger-headed geek. "Now, with that boring introduction out of the way-"
"Hey!" Cameron scowled.
"Sorry," Chris apologised. "Now, with that boring introduction out of the way, it's Geek Charming himself, the charmer that caught Sierra's eye back in World Tour: Cody!"
"She's not here is she?!" Cody asked, scared.
"Uh, no, but-"
"Phew! I can't catch a break from her!" Cody sighed a breath of relief.
"I thought you and Sierra were friends now?" Chris asked the tech-geek.
Cody shot him a glare. "Would you be friends with someone that you caught standing outside your bedroom window at night? Every night?!"
"Well when you put it like that..." Chris's eyes widened. "Sorry for endangering you, dude... You didn't happen to get any of it on tape did you?"
"Ugh!" Cody groaned, walking past the host.
As he did so, the next boat pulled up. The passenger being none other than the blonde beauty from the first three seasons. "Hey, Chip! It's so nice to see you again!" Lindsay smiled.
"Ever the pleasure to see you too, Lindsay." Chris smirked. "You're one of the las-"
"Tyler!" Lindsay squealed, spotting her boyfriend. "It feels like I haven't seen you in ages!" She added, rushing over and embracing her boyfriend in a hug.
"Ouch!" Tyler winced, worrying Lindsay. "I mean, it's so good to see you, babe!"
"Are you not feeling well?" Lindsay raised a brow.
"Nah, I'm fine! Just a little pain in my shoulder." Tyler told the blonde. "It'll go away."
"Enough chit-chat!" Chris raised his voice. "The final dude to arrive is here. Trent!"
"Hey, man!" Trent smiled. He then took a moment to examine his competition, spotting Gwen and Duncan in the crowd.
"Still not over Gwen?" Chris inquired, feigning sympathy. "Or should I say Gwen-Gwen-Gwen-Gwen-Gwen-Gwen-"
"Are you still hung up on that?" Trent rolled his eyes. "I'm more or less over it now so I'm not going to do what I did in Action and ruin it for myself..."
"Glad to hear it! Hey, while you're here, maybe you could hook up with a certain someone?" Chris leaned in to whisper. "It does wonders for the ratings."
Trent shook his head in disgust. "Like I'd humiliate myself like that again."
"Your loss." Chris shrugged his shoulders. "There was gonna be a major bonus in it for you, too."
"What kind o-"
"Eee! Katie isn't this so exciting?" A high-pitched voice squealed in the distance, interrupting everyone. "We're competing again!"
"I know, right?! Soooo exciting!" An equally high-pitched voice responded in a similar fashion.
The hyperactive duo grew louder and louder the closer they got, and soon reached the dock and jumped off excitedly.
"Katie, Sadie," Chris greeted the pair. "Welcome back."
"Eee! Sadie, it's Chris!" Katie giggled.
"It's all of our old camp-mates and even some new ones!" Sadie pointed at the crowd of teens, and Blaineley.
"Enough nostalgia! Everyone, follow me to the bonfire area, pronto!" Chris instructed the large group, who all complied.
"I'm glad you all could make it back! So, without further ado, I'll introduce this season to you. AKA, the biggest season of Total Drama yet, with a cast of thirty players!" Chris introduced the season to the group.
"Wait, who skipped out?!" Duncan abruptly put in. "You mean to say that we had to come and they didn't?!"
"No... Um, some of them couldn't make it – Dakota and Sam are filming a horror flick right now, Lightning now has a career as a professional football player and Beth moved to Hollywood with her boyfriend Brady… So it was virtually impossible for them to make it."
"Geoff's hosting the Aftermath Show, so that's why he's not here!" Bridgette added with a smile.
"...And where's Sierra?" Cody asked nervously.
"Yeah, where is the crazy fan girl?" Heather added, prompting most of the other campers to look around in search of the purple-headed sugar addict.
"You didn't honestly think I'd bring back her, did you? She blew up my plane, man; she's a danger to this show, and more importantly, my health." Chris responded, as the World Tour contestants nodded their heads in agreement, whilst Cody breathed a sigh of relief.
"I see Beverly's not here either." Scott jeered, folding his arms.
"Yeah, he and Zeke... They're kind'a AWOL." Chris responded, shrugging his shoulders. "Now that we've covered the absentees, how about we introduce our contestants?" He moved on.
"Or how about we just get on with it? All of us have already been on the show before." Heather snapped, folding her arms.
"Nice to see you again, too, Heather." Chris said sarcastically, prompting Heather to give him a dagger stare.
"Moving on... Alejandro, Anne Maria, Blaineley," Chris started to do a role call of the contestants.
"Over here!" Blaineley exclaimed turning the camera to herself and posing.
"O-kay?" Chris slowed down, "Brick, Bridgette, Cameron, Cody, Courtney," he continued, as everyone put their hand up, whilst Courtney smiled to the camera.
"Get on with it!" Duncan exclaimed, urging Chris to get the role call over and done with as soon as possible.
"Dawn, DJ, Duncan," he continued as Duncan smirked. "Eva, Gwen, Harold, Heather," Heather flipped her hair out of her eyes, letting out a little 'hmph' sound. "Izzy, Jo, Justin, Katie," Katie squealed, holding hands with Sadie. "Aaaand it looks like you're all here." Chris concluded, folding up the list of names he was reading from.
"Um, what about the rest of us?" Noah inquired, unimpressed by Chris' lack of effort.
After squinting his eyes at Noah, Chris took a deep breath in. "Leshawna, Lindsay, Mike, Noah, Owen, Sadie, Scott, Staci, Trent, Tyler, Zoey." He finished the role call, saying the remaining names faster than before, apart from Noah's.
"Now that all thirty of you are accounted for..." Chris gave a glance to Noah, who gave a smug smile with his arms crossed in return. "It's time to crack on with this season of Total Drama: Total…Drama…Recall!" Chris paused between each word to create suspense, as per usual, before the theme song starts to play.
"Total Drama Recall, huh? How enticing." Noah remarked, as Izzy giggled. "Can't we just get on with it already? I don't exactly want to be back here again."
"That it is, my friend, that it is." Chris responded. "And before we get started, there's one thing we need to do: make the teams!" Chris announced, prompting applause from a member of production whilst the contestants remained silent. "Anyhow... Owen, Gwen, you two get the first pick of your respective teams since you two placed first and second in the original series. The process goes as follows: First, Owen chooses one of the 28 campers to be on his team, Gwen will then do the same, and then the camper that Owen chose will pick their next team-mate, and so on. Got it?" Gwen and Owen then simultaneously assured Chris that they understood.
"Eeeeeeek! This is so exciting! Don't you think, Sadie?" Katie squealed.
"I know! This is like, too exciting, I hope I don't get picked last!" Sadie responded, holding hands with Katie.
"Oh, I know! Remember in gym class last year, you got picked last like every lesson!" Katie innocently added. "And then no one would pass to you in the games apart from me. That was like, so rude of them!"
"Katie, please-" Sadie uttered, as she began to get red-faced, embarrassed.
"And then there was that one time when your pants accidentally fell down during Hockey, and every one saw your Hello Kitty underwear!" Katie rambled on, not hearing Sadie.
As Scott, Jo, Duncan, Alejandro, Heather, Justin and some other campers began to laugh, Sadie's face went a pinky red. "Why did you just say that, on TV, in front of everyone!?" Sadie trembled, before pulling away from Katie, tears forming in her eyes.
"I-I'm sorr-" Katie tried to apologise but was interrupted by Sadie.
"Just forget it..." Sadie unconvincingly said, wiping away a tear in her eye as she walked away from Katie.
"Hello kitty? Haha! How pathetic!" Justin chuckled; unaware Sadie was close enough to hear.
"Guys, stop it!" Dawn said firmly, consoling an upset Sadie.
"Sadie, I'm so sorr-" Katie tried to apologise once more, but was interrupted by Dawn who suggested that she leave it for now, prompting Katie to walk to the other side of the group, brooding over what had just transpired.
"Alright, campers! Can we get on with this – this is a half hour show! Owen, you're up!" Chris exclaimed through the megaphone that was handed to him by an intern.
"This is as easy as pie!" Owen exclaimed excitedly. "I sure would love some pie right now, mmm." He continued, as Chris snapped him out of his pie-centred daydream. "Oh, okay – sorry! Izzy. I pick Izzy!" he exclaimed as Izzy ran over to Owen, giving him a big bear hug.
As Gwen analysed the remaining 27 campers, she stopped to pause at Duncan. Lifting her hand up, she pointed in Duncan's direction, who smugly started walking to Gwen. "Brick." Gwen said, smirking at Duncan.
"Reporting for duty." Brick stepped in front of Duncan and saluted Gwen, as she awkwardly smiled.
"I have to say, I watched every episode of last season, so I'm gonna have to choose Mike, you're so crazy!" Izzy grinned, as Mike joined his team. "And I love me some crazy!"
"Yeah...Haha, crazy..." Mike laughed nervously, rubbing his right arm nervously.
"Ooh, ooh, pick me!" Leshawna exclaimed from the back of the group, barging her way forward. "Pick me!"
"Okay…Um, Leshawna... is it?" Brick smiled, as Leshawna greeted him with a hug.
"You won't regret it." Leshawna affirmed her team as she stood beside Gwen.
"It's gonna have to be Zoey!" Mike beamed, as Zoey rushed over to hug him.
"Hmm... Who shall I pick, who shall I pick?" Leshawna uttered to herself. "Harold!" she exclaimed as she spotted him amongst the group.
"Yes!" Harold responded, before walking over to his team, receiving a hug from Leshawna. "My mad skills will be vital to this team's success!"
"I pick Cameron!" Zoey gleefully pointed to Cameron, before turning around to her team-mates. "That's okay with you guys, right?"
"Umm... I choose DJ!" Harold uttered.
"Hmm..." Cameron pondered his decision. "I should probably go for someone that won't hurt me." He uttered to himself, before his eyes came to Bridgette. "Bridgette!" he smiled, as Bridgette joined her team.
"I'm gonna have to go with an animal lover like me, and since Bridgette's already been chosen, I'm choosing Dawn!" DJ smiled, as Dawn lifted her head in shock.
"You're picking me?" she asked, as DJ nodded. "I never get picked before others. In school, I'm always picked last." She continued, before walking over to her team, closely followed by a butterfly, a chipmunk and a small bird.
"Seriously? Crazy girl, the pants-wetting cadet, bubble boy, the big softie and now animal whisperer? There's only so much my confidence can take!" Jo exclaimed.
"Trent!" Bridgette cheerfully said, before welcoming Trent to her team.
"I pick Sadie!" Dawn smiled, as Sadie wiped away a tear and headed over to Dawn, not even giving so much as a backward look at Katie.
"Who to pick, who to pick..." Trent uttered to himself, before resting his eyes on Duncan. "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer..." he thought, "Duncan." He said, shocking Gwen, Duncan and Courtney.
"He can't be serious, can he?" Gwen asked, confused.
As Sadie scanned the remaining fifteen contestants, she passed Katie, who was giving her a sympathetic smile. "I choose Lindsay!" Sadie smiled, as Katie looked down to the ground, regretting what she had said.
"Yay!" Lindsay squealed excitedly, before sharing a hug with Sadie.
(Confessional)
Katie: "I didn't mean what I said, honest." She softly said. "I just want my BFFFL back." She continued, wiping away a tear.
(End Confessional)
"Scott." Duncan called out, prompting Scott to jerk his head forward.
"Me?" he asked, knowing of how unpopular he is.
"Do you see anyone else here called Scott?" Duncan questioned, prompting Scott to walk forward and join his team.
"Tyler!" Lindsay squealed, resulting in Tyler running forward, ending in a long hug between the pair. "We're on the same team! This is gonna be great!" Lindsay continued; her arms wrapped around Tyler.
"It's gonna be AWESOME!" Tyler responded, before he and Lindsay share a kiss.
Scanning the contestants, Scott was using his choice wisely. "I pick... Heather." he said with a grin on his face.
(Confessional)
Scott: "Heather is a major threat. If we're not in an alliance, then one of us is gonna get the boot – and it sure ain't gonna be me!" Scott snickered, carving his name into the wood of the confessional toilet.
(End Confessional)
"Finally! Someone who knows how to pick correctly!" Heather responded, standing up from her seat on one of the stumps surrounding the campfire area.
(Confessional)
Heather: "I know he's a strategic player and he knows I'm a threat. I'm onto him."

"Umm..." Tyler pondered about who he was going to pick. "I think I'll pick..." he continued, before he was interrupted by Chris.
"Come on, Tyler, we haven't got all day – like I said, half hour show!" He reminded Tyler whilst tapping on his watch.
"Yo, muscles – over here!" Anne Maria chirped. "Pick me!"
"Um, okay. I choose Anne Maria." He said, as Anne Maria hugged him.
"Well I really am spoilt for choice here, aren't I?" Heather pointed out, looking at the ten remaining contestants. "I guess I'll pick Cody." She uttered, giving a glance to Alejandro.
"SERIOUSLY? Even toothpick was picked before me?! Something is up!" Jo snapped.
"I'm gonna have to go with Al over here! I do like my men muscled!" Anne Maria purred, as Alejandro walked across to his team, giving a sideward glance to Heather.
"Cody, come on! Pick me – I'm a C.I.T. remember?" Courtney pointed out.
"Uh, okay, I guess I'll go with Courtney then..." Cody muttered.
"Finally, people!" Courtney remarked as she joined her team.

Courtney: "Duncan is going down." She vowed, squinting her eyes at the camera. "And don't think I've forgotten about you, Gwen. You've wronged the wrong girl this time."

"Over here, hot stuff!" Blaineley purred to Alejandro.
"I'll take the lovely Blaineley!" Alejandro announced, greeting his new team member with a kiss on the hand.
"MILDRED?!" Heather burst in. "LOVELY?"
"Jo, you're up!" Courtney smiled, pointing to the jock-ette.
"It's about time!" Jo moaned as she joined her new team.
"Anger issues, too talkative, too brainy, too ditzy." Blaineley thought as she was picking her next team-mate. "Justin, you're in."
As Jo looked at the four campers sitting on the stumps around the campfire, she decided to make a tactical move and pick someone she deemed weak – "Noah, get your butt in gear and get over here!" she exclaimed, prompting Noah to pick up his book and traipse over to where Jo and her team were standing.
"I can't believe I'm saying this... Eva, you're with us." Justin uttered, as Eva stood up from her stump and walked over to her team-mates.
"Right, a responsible person would step in right now and assign Staci and Katie to a team so that they wouldn't have to know they were picked last. However, I am not that person." Chris laughed, as Noah was deciding his team's last team-mate.
"This is a tough decision." Noah remarked, "I'm gonna go with Katie." He finished, as Katie walked over to her team, hanging her head.
"Katie, you can come with us if you want?" Heather added, smiling in Katie's direction.
(Confessional)
Heather: "Upset and lonely? Katie will be easy to get on side." She sat looking at her nails with a grin on her face, before turning to look at the camera. "Courtney's out to get Duncan, and I can use that to my advantage. Now all I need is two more – Bridgette and Trent, look out."
(End Confessional)
"And that means that Staci is on Gwen's team." Chris added.
"Um, Chris, what are our teams called?" Owen inquired, prompting Gwen to join in.
"I was getting there!" Chris responded. "Owen's team, you are the Killer Bears, and Gwen – your team is the Screaming Badgers: just a little reference to the Killer Bass and Screaming Gophers."
"They get Bears and we get Badgers? How is that fair?" Alejandro exclaimed.
"This is Total Drama we're talking about. Nothing's fair." Chris laughed. "Now here are your team flags." He added, throwing the rolled up red flag to Zoey, who unrolled the flag to find it depicting a roaring bear standing on its hind legs, with its front two legs arching above it's head. He then threw Eva the green flag, which resembled the original Screaming Gophers' flag, but in the style of a Badger.
"Now that each of you are assigned to a team, you can get settled in to the cabins and unpack. We'll be meeting in the main lodge in two hours – don't be late!" Chris snickered as the contestants began to traipse their luggage to the cabins. "Oh, and before I forget, your first challenge is this afternoon, guys – and it's not of the reward kind!" Chris laughed once more.
"But doesn't that mean...That there will be an elimination ceremony tonight?" Cameron asked in surprise, as the rest of the campers looked to Chris for answers.
"Even better!" Chris snickered again. "There's gonna be two!"
"Two?!" Cameron responded, dropping his bags in surprise.
"Yeah, two! Each team will send one camper on a one way trip down the dock of shame and onto the boat of losers." Chris explained through the megaphone. "Oh, and one more thing – three members of each team will earn themselves invincibility!"
(Confessional)
Bridgette: "I can't get eliminated first again. No way am I going down without a fight! In a way, I'm glad Geoff's not here – it means there aren't any distractions." She worriedly looked at the camera. "... Sorry, Geoff, but this season's my time to shine!"

A/N: So I re-wrote this chapter and I can only hope that it still fits with the future chapters... I'll be re-writing a couple of those two, but for now, I hope the story still flows well. Anyhow, thanks for reading and don't forget to leave a review:3! The story does get better as my writing improves, so bear with me on that one. ;)
So yeah, I hope you decide to continue on with this story and remember that any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated, even if I wrote the chapter months before you happen to read it. Have a good day!
