Summer Before Senior

It was summer and Troy was going to tell Gabriella how he felt.

Unknown to Troy, Gabriella was going to do the same.

They were both going to do it on the annual family holiday to Hawaii. Mutual and common ground. The sand was perfect. Nice and almost white soft enough you felt like you could cuddle into it when you lay on your towel but then other parts were firm so you could build sand sculptures. The sun was beaming. It was hot enough to be comfortable in just a tank top and shorts or a bikini but then every so often a gently breeze would dance over your skin cooling you. The sea was sparkling and cool enough to soothe your sun kissed ski hot enough to be enjoyable as it lapped at your legs while you walked along or floated.

While Gabriella couldn't take her eyes of the view, Troy couldn't take his eyes of her.

Halfway though the afternoon Gabriella had wandered off to purchase ice cream. When she came back Troy noticed hers had already graced her lips and a drop had trailed down her chin.

Troy swallowed his fear and stretched out a finger to wipe it away. But he left a bit so he stretched forward and kissed it away.

"Troy what are you doing?" asked Gabriella.

"I really like you," he whispered.

"I really like you too," Gabriella whispered.

With that Troy leaned forward and kissed her and they fell backwards onto the towels a tangle of limbs.

A while later the parents came to find them for tea and found them cuddled up of the towels. Gabriella fast asleep in Troy's top, encased in his arms while Troy was watching Gabriella.

He carried her back to her room her bag over his shoulder, the towels in her lap.

When she awoke, he said he was taking her for dinner. Their first date. That was the start of a beautiful relationship.

The End
