sakura haruno x levi ackerman gender bender one-shot
sakura haruno - saechi haruno; levi ackerman - levy ackerman
I wrote this on a whim. If you would like me to continue on with these drabbles, tell me in your reviews! Thanks.
"I had a dream last night." Grey eyes regarded him carefully.
"It was weird—I've never had anything like it. I had a dream that I was a ninja in an older period of Japan." Saechi paused, raking his hands through his hair. This action, Levy observed, seemed to make his forehead appear larger.
"That's very interesting, however I don't care." Saechi glared weakly at his female companion in annoyance. "Ironically enough, that is probably not the weirdest thing about you that I've learned yet. I've never met a male with pink hair. Statistically, the phenotypes you express are—"
"—highly improbable. I'm aware, Levy. And yet somehow I managed to be born looking like this. I thank kami for my good looks." Saechi winked at Levy. There was a long pause, and he examined Levy's face before gazing off in another direction.
"You had wings."
"You're full of shi—"
"Can you just listen to me? Please?" Saechi still wasn't looking at her, but his tone of voice conveyed his pleading. Levy became silent and Saechi took this as a sign to continue.
"They weren't actual wings. The wings were printed on an upside-down pentagon. Dual colored—the wings I mean. You headed a division of what seemed to be part of a military coalition." Saechi paused again to rake his shoulder-length hair out of his face.
"And you were male."
Levy glared at him this time, affronted by his insistence to continue recounting a dream that she did not give two fucks about.
"Listen," Levy began, "I'm not sure what it is you're trying to tell me—"
"You looked brave." Saechi cut her off. "You led entire coalitions into battle, and returned with only shells of what these men once were before their war began. These men—they were collateral damage in the fight and you—" Saechi breathed, "—you were highly skilled too." Saechi was looking at her now, but their eyes did not meet. He scanned her face—drinking in her soft features. Angled chin, almond eyes, and deep black hair. Exactly how he'd remembered her in his dream. Levy decided to humor him.
"And what, pray tell, was I doing being a leader of a military coalition?"
"You were fighting for the sake of humanity."
At this, Levy's demeanor changed and a long, thoughtful silence rested between them. Their eyes met—green on grey—before Saechi broke eye contact and rose from his sitting position. Levy regarded him silently with her eyes, studying the way his form-fitting clothes adjusted to his musculature. He was tall, and handsome too. Saechi turned to leave, but was interrupted when Levy spoke up.
"Whose humanity was I fighting for?" There was another pause—this one awkward—and Levy felt silly for indulging in his fantasies.
"I would like to say that you were fighting for the human race, but—"
"But?"
"—you weren't fighting to save others. You fought for the sake of your own humanity." Saechi looked at his watch. With a final smile at Levy, he left her alone to ruminate in her thoughts.
Saechi was an odd man, and without realizing it, she'd become fond of him. Levy considered herself to be an unshakeable and resolute force and yet, and yet, a man like Saechi could slip past her carefully constructed defenses and establish himself as an unchanging—yet in many ways changing—force in her life. He was eccentric, and weird enough to be considered an anomaly in her everyday life.
A curious one, at that.
