OoO

Elrond watched as Frodo walked through the garden below his window with his uncle Bilbo. These past months have not been easy for him, Elrond knew for he had seen with the gift of visions some of what the littlest ring bearer had been through.

Frodo had spoken some of what he had been through to him, and Elrond was glad he could do a small bit more to ease the young ones burden. In all truth he felt responsible for the young hobbit.

Many nights Elrond had sat and listened to Bilbo tell of his time raising a orphaned Frodo, he spoke with the love any parent has for their child. Even before Elrond had first met Frodo he felt a connection to him.

Elrond sighed as he continued to work on the medicine that would help to ease Frodo's rest. Nightmares where common to the young hobbit. Which was really no wonder, after everything he had been through to destroy the one ring.

OoO

Day had turned to night when Elrond walked into the bedroom that was Frodo's for as long as he wished. He set the tray of medical supplies down on the bedside table. The littlest ring bearer was tossing in his sleep, and a light sweat sheen-ed his brow. Elrond sat on the side of the bed and lifted him into his arms. He began to sing softly to Frodo as he crushed herbs into the warm water he had brought in a bowl sitting on the nearby table. Slowly he wiped his young patients brow as he continued to sing softly to chase away the web of dreams that Frodo had found himself insared in.

He continued to tend the many injures that he knew would never fully heal, at least not until he reached the shores of valnor. Only then would the littlest ring bearer find the peace he sought. As he was able to administer medication and tend Frodo without him even stirring told of his weakness, and exhaustion.

Elrond sat back to watch and see if the medication would help ease his patience rest his thoughts wandered to the rings of power he and others held for so long. Yes they knew what it felt like to be pulled by rings of power.

But he mused as he brushed a lock of hair from Frodo's brow he knew what he had experienced was nothing compared to this small beings torment. It was a debt that all middle earth owed to care and ease the continued suffering for suffer he still did. Elrond sighed and stood silently gathering his supplies.

He made a silent promise, to himself and to Frodo no one would forget the suffering of the littlest ring bearers. For a debt was owed to Samwise also, he even for a short time had also born the one ring. Also he had been next to his friend every step of the way. Such strength of character, and love was not forgotten either.

The Elves would forever honor the bravery of the smallest of the ring bearers.
