"It's perfect." Merlin stared in awe at the large sword Gwen had produced from under the bed. He looked up at her and grinned. He wrapped the sword up in the red cloth and picked it up. Gwen gave him a little smile, seeing him glance over at her as he opened the door but he seemed, as usual, completely oblivious. It didn't matter how blatant she was, Merlin never seemed to get the hint.

"Why can't he just notice me?" she grumbled under her breath as she closed the door behind him.

After that, Gwen just sat at the table, hoping – and half-expecting – Merlin would knock on her door because he'd realised, after five months of her being as obvious as she could, what she was trying to get through to him. Gwen didn't know what to do with herself – she was getting frustrated with Merlin. How much more blatant could she get? After all, she'd kissed him, accidentally-on-purpose, and still the message was beyond him.

Gwen got up as she saw Merlin rush past. She now knew what to do – the one thing that would make him notice her above all else. Enough of dropping hints – she was going to tell him straight up.

"MERLIN!" she called to him as he ran past. He looked over at her and waved, grinning at her. She beckoned to him, but, as always, he didn't notice. Gwen slowly closed the door and slumped on the bed.

"Oh, Merlin, why are you so OBLIVIOUS?" she sighed.
