Hey everyone. This was written for both October Writing Club's Amber's Attic, and Angel's Event: The Pumpkin Patch on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Amber's Attic I used the prompt 3. The Exorcist: (food) pea soup. For Angel's Event: The Pumpkin Patch my prompt was H6: (plot point) serving dinner. I hope you all enjoy Pea Soup Dinner.
Lily Luna turned her head away from the television as her father and brother's continued to watch the movie. It was horrible dreadful thing called The Exorcist and it was about this little girl possessed by the devil. Not wanting to be the scardey cat that James and Albus called her Lily had watched up until now through her fingers.
"Dinners ready," called Ginny from the kitchen.
"But Mum," Albus and James called, "the movie's not over yet. Can we watch it until the end?"
"No," Ginny told the three boys as she pressed pause on the control. "You can finish watching your movie after we eat dinner. Now go get washed up and head to the table."
"Alright, Mum," both boys mumbled as they trudged towards the kitchen to wash their hands.
"You too, Lily."
Lily nodded glad to be taken away from the horrible movie. She went the kitchen sink and washed her hands seeing James and Albus over in the corner whispering among themselves. She wondered what they were talking about as she dried her hands and went over to her seat at the table. Waiting patiently she couldn't get that horrible vomit scene out of her mind. She remembered James or her father saying that they used pea soup for the vomit in that scene.
"What's for dinner tonight, Gin?" Harry asked looking over at his wife who was carrying over a pot to the table.
"Pea soup," Ginny told them all watching as Lily went pale and looked sickly. "Are you alright, Lily?" She passed a bowl to Harry and began to ladle soup into another bowl.
James and Ablus snickered at her from across the table as she nodded. Lily knew she'd never this night down. She looked at her pea soup not very hungry any more wishing she'd never have watched that movie to begin with.
I hope you all enjoyed Pea Soup Dinner.
