Watching as you walk away,
I could do nothing at all,
I had always thought you'd stay.
It hurts to know that it's all my doing,
Though I never did say sorry,
I didn't realize what I was losing.
I wonder if I thought to cry,
Because you were suddenly gone,
With a quick goodbye.
Once it finally hits me,
I fall down on my knees,
I had loved you so dearly, but too blind to see.
I can't believe I let you go,
But I know you deserve better,

I couldn't put the past behind,
And pushed you so far away,
The fear that I had was all just in my mind.
I'm sure if I tried harder to understand you,
You'd probably still be here,

All I can see now is your shadow,
