I couldn't stand it anymore. Seriously, I was so….bored. There was nothing I wanted more than to go on a nice, long walk.
So why not go?
Duh! I was really slow today. I just wasn't thinking straight.
I headed outside, even though it was raining. I had a hoodie on with the hood pulled up over my head, so I wouldn't get too drenched. Even though I felt like exercise, I really couldn't be stuffed rummaging through all my crap just to find an umbrella, or even a rain coat. But, I did bring my guitar, just in case I wanted to clear my mind again.
I headed out to the cabin, the very same one that Dimitri and I had spent the night in. I felt at piece there.
I was absolutely drenched when I reached the stair case at the bottom of the house. I took off my hoodie, and just too make my day, my t-shirt was soaked. Thank god I was wearing a black singlet, not a white one.
My singlet, with the water, was even clingier than before, something that wouldn't look good on someone over my weight.
I walked in, kicking my shoes off on the patio, and too my surprise, the door was a little wedged open. This reminded me of Arthur and what has happened to him and his family, but when I heard music coming from within, I wasn't scared.
I didn't go in just yet. I just listened to the music.
The guitar started playing, and I stepped inside.
She was given the world,
So much that she couldn't see,
And she needed someone,
To show her who she could be,
And she tried,
To survive
Wearing her heart on her sleeve
But I needed you to believe,
I realized this song. In fact, I was the one who wrote it! This person, who he was, had stolen my song! But when I saw who it was, all that went away.
You had your dreams,
I had mine,
You had your fears,
I was fine,
Showed me what I couldn't find
When two different worlds collide
Dimitri didn't see me as I stood there, leaning on the door frame. All he had to do was look up, but he was focusing on the guitar.
My version of this song, the original one, had he instead of she, but coming from him, made it that more special. I decided to sing the next verse. When I started, he looked up in surprise, but didn't stop playing.
He was scared of it all,
Watching from far away,
And he was given a role,
Never knew just when to play,
And he tried,
To survive,
Living a life on his own,
Always afraid of the throne,
But you've given me strength to find hope
His mouth was opened wide with a big smile, the same as mine. He join in then, and I came and sat beside him on the bed he was sitting on.
You had your dreams,
I had mine,
You had your fears,
I was fine,
Showed me what I couldn't find,
I got too say the last line.
When two different worlds collide.
He stopped then, and we stared into each other's eyes. I smiled, and after a heartbeat more, I grabbed my paper and held it up.
"How did you get this?"
He laughed. "You don't hide it very well."
I sighed and pushed him off the bed. He laughed again, on the floor.
He had the fire going, which was good. My singlet was half dry already, and sitting next to it, well, in front of it, made it dry even quicker.
"So, what are you doing here?" Dimitri asked, climbing back on the bed and sitting next to me.
I shrugged. "I was bored, and I needed to get out. This was just the place I felt peace."
He nodded. "I agree."
