That blue dress of Belle's, no matter how simple it was, always made her look beautiful. Actually, no matter what she wore, she looked beautiful.
That's how I, Gaston, judge people: the way they look. If you're beautiful, you're good. If you're ugly, you're bad. Things are as simple as that.
I had drawn that conclusion when I heard someone say that the way you look on the outside didn't matter, but what was on the inside. But how could that make sense? I had seen the insides of animals before, and they've all been not so pretty. So certainly the looks on the outside must be the ones that mattered.
And that's how I drew my genius conclusion on how to judge people.
