Prologue

The heart broken girl silently watched from the porch like a lion watching his prey. She was unsure if he could see her or not, she wouldn't be surprised if he did. He tossed a small bag onto the back of his motorcycle. Then he turned around and stared at the house. There was a moment of silence before the girl decided to make her presence known. She emerged from the darkness.

"Robin, don't go." She cried, walking toward him.

She could tell she caught him off guard, for he tensed when he saw her. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. He stared at her for a moment, closed it and turned his head to the distant forest; searching for something that wasn't there. She reached her hand out and delicately touched his elbow. His body froze up and she immediately pulled her hand away, cradling it to her chest. The boy wonder sighed then turned his head so she could finally see his face.

"Kylie, don't make this harder than it is." He whispered, using her real name.

Anger instantly filled every vein in the petite girls body. She clenched hers fists and forced them down to her sides. She could feel the sadness trying to creep its way back to the surface. But she liked it down deep inside her. No way! No way was she going to cry in front of him! The night breeze flowed between the two heros, creating a awkward silence. The young detective took note of her sudden change in state and stiffened more.

"It doesn't have to be hard!" The enraged girl shouted. "Its not fair! Bruce gave you the world and in return...you...y-you leave!" Her voice cracked from tears that threatened to fall.

He didnt respond. Instead he took a step toward me and grabbed the sides of her heated face. Then, he lightly pressed his lips to hers. Tingles exploded all over the 13 year olds bodys. Even through all the girls rage, she melted into him. Sweetly and slow he parted from her and slid his hands of her face. Only leaving the warmth from his touch.

"Bye, Luna." He whispered and turned his back to the now frozen girl.

She watched helplessly as he slid onto his bike and kicked the kickstand. As the loud engine roared and he stared at his best friend one last time, he drove down the long driveway. She stood there, watching his shadowy figure as it disappeared into the distant. Even when he was gone, she still stood there watching. She guessed a part of her hoped that he would come racing back to her. But after she stared at the empty driveway for what seemed like an eternity, the heart broken girl fell to her knees. She wasn't consumed by anger anymore, the sadness found its way back to the surface. Tears poured down her face uncontrollably and she suddenly found interest in the bricks lining Wayne Manor. A light emerged from behind her and then slowly faded along with the sound of a door shutting. Muscular arms wrapped around her in a hug. She silently cried into the familiar arms suddenly feeling empty.

Again.
