Chapter 1
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or his parents.
"Padfoot, I can't believe I am saying this," James said suddenly from his sprawled position on the couch,
"Yeah?"
"Do you have any ideas on how to get Lily to go out with me?"
"Seriously? I haven't been over Lily yet?" Sirius sat up from his equally ungraceful position on the floor and said, "Looks like someone is lovestruck!"
"Hey, stop it," James seems to be annoyed by the teasing, "But don't come up with anything crazy again, the last time you made me dress up as a pumpkin and it didn't work!"
"It worked when I did it," Sirius pouted, "Any ordinary girl would have fell for that,"
"But Lily's no ordinary girl," James said, and a dazed expression came to his face, "She is the one, she is special, and so..."
"Stop!" Sirius yelled, "I've heard too many 'why I like Evans' speech for my liking,"
"Well, are you going to give me any advice?"
"Ask Remus, I'm out of ideas, since I don't really have trouble getting the girl I want," Sirius said, and added slyly, "Unlike some people,"
Sirius dodged a punch and ran off.
"Moony?"
"I don't like the sound of this," Remus muttered under his breath, then said, "Yes?"
"Do you have any advice on how I can get Lily to go out with me?"
Remus rolled his eyes, Lily had been the main point in their conversation ever since second year, but now it's just getting ridiculous, just wanting this to be over, Remus said,
"Get her chocolate and flowers, the classic,"
"Great idea! Well, bye!"
Remus rolled his eyes again, with that problem out of the way, he returned to his potions essay.
James stood beside the great doors to the Great Hall, waiting for someone to turn the corner. He clutched the bouquet of flowers tightly, the chocolate box on his other hand, and he ran his hands over his hair nervously,
"Lily, wait!"
Lily turned around and glared at the boy with messy hair,
"What, Potter?"
But to her surprise, he did not do anything stupid, instead, he held out the flowers in one hand, and the box of chocolates in the other,
"Beautiful lilies for an even more beautiful Lily,"
Lily gaped at the flowers and the chocolate, and hesitantly took them from his hands,
"No means no, Potter," She said softly after gazing at the lilies for a while, and looked up to see James and a small crowd of onlookers.
James walked away with slumped shoulders, but unknown to him, Lily is bearing a content little smile.
