Prologue

A gentle breeze caressed the short strands of exotic pink hair on Sakura's head as she spared a last glance to her old home.

"I'll come back" she reassured herself.

"I'll come back when I'm stronger."

She turned her head back around and gazed into the endless sky that stretched, far, far ahead of her. It would be her guide, the road she was to follow on her journey.

She knew it was reckless, walking off alone into the world where she would, for once, have to fend for herself; but she needed this. She knew it was selfish, to try and blame her weakness, and vulnerability on the things around her; to scowl at the fact that she was nothing without her friends, but that didn't seem to stop her. The people around her may have been content despite having to take care of her like a small girl, but she couldn't stand it any longer. This would be her freedom, and its consequence.

The possibility of growing stronger, the mere illusion of returning to the Hidden Leaf village as a warrior, not a little girl, were the things she'd grown to yearn for. Thus she stood here, on this hill, gazing at the village of Konoha, before disappearing into the darkness, one stray tear twinkling like the stars themselves.

Author's Note

Hey guys, well, here's the prologue! Constructive Criticism please, because although SASUxSAKU is my favourite couple, it can get kinda difficult to portray them.

Also, I need a story title for this piece, as you can probably tell. Please, please, please gimme some suggestions!

EDIT: TO OLD READERS. Yes, I am finally making something outta this story, but it's gonna be a bit different (although the same plot), as you can kinda tell. (Although the time skips are ever present, they're not as consistent as they were in the previous version of this story.) Thank you to those of you that reviewed when this first came out, and for you I give you the continuation of this story as a present :)
