Lost

My life for the past 5 months had been a blur. After I found out that I was meant to save the world and eventually after life threatening battles with monsters such as erasers and flyboys etc. I completed the mission that had been set for me since I was a small mutant bird kid.

My flock as you know have been my support line they helped me through every single battle and they never left my side until today! About a month ago each and every one of them found their parents, even Fang. I didn't try to stop them it was always our dream to find our biological parents. But now they have left and I have nothing, I have never felt so alone in my whole entire life, even when I thought I was going to die I still had my family.

I miss Nudge's chattering and Iggy's cooking; which reminds me that I haven't had a good meal in a while. I miss Gazzy and his brilliant schemes of blowing things up and Angel and her extra ordinary powers that annoy the heck out of me. Most of all I miss Fang, he was always there for me and he was my right hand man. Now that they have left I feel broken, I am not the same Max that everyone counted on and believed in; I need them more then they need me, now sitting alone in the dark I realise that!

Today I decided that if my flock can go to their families then so can I. I would go to Dr Martinez's house and eat chocolate chip cookies and spend time with Ella and get to know my mum and my half sister more as I have always wanted.

Flying always helps me think it must be the air that swirls around me that makes me feel as if I float along a world that has no trouble and no doubt and most importantly no danger.

As I neared Dr Martinez's house I came in for a soft landing about two metres away from the house. I walked slowly to the door that would lead me to the people I loved and needed even if it wasn't all the people I needed at this moment in time.

I slid open the door and walked in nobody seemed to be around.

"Mum... Ella... Are you home?"

No reply came. I started to shift nervously on my feet. I walked into the kitchen remembering that if I needed to make a break for it I would have to turn left and run down the hall and out in to the open air.

"Mum... Ella..."

I started forward and then stopped as I noticed a white envelope on the dining room table. I reached down and picked it up. A queasy feeling was etching into my stomach something was wrong I just knew it. I turned the envelope over to see my name written at the top of the letter. It said:

"Max we have plans for you, if you want to see your family again and I mean your whole family then you stay in this house and wait for another letter, the next letter holds your task! Now you do as we say or your family will be killed!"

All I knew for sure was that they had my Mum and Ella and my Flock. I had to do something but all I could do was wait...FifteenF
