"Camus?" a voice called.
"What?" the man responded.
"Camus." the voice said in a serious manner, whilst it became clearer and familiar.
"Do you still remember me?" it asked.
Camus recognized this charming accent, and yet he can't put a finger on it. He just can't recollect any memories about him, an important person in his life. Even so, he tried his best to recall anything about him.
"It's alright if you don't remember, Camus," the mysterious voice said with a hint of gloom. "It's natural."
A hazy shadow appeared before him. It was shaped like a human being, standing up straight with both arms on his sides, and started to wave his hand.
"Answer me," the blond demanded, "Were you the one who was speaking earlier?"
There was no reply.
"Hey, I'm not talking to myself here!" he sarcastically remarked and sighed. "Answer me!" he reiterated.
Crickets started to chirp.
"I'm serious… please answer."
The figure morphed into something smaller… a four-legged animal. It was a feline creature, and it meowed in the distance. The cat slowly crawled towards Camus, and then gently stroked its tiny head against his leg. It meowed again.
Confused on what's happening, he picked it up and cuddled with it. He, the baron, didn't know why he did such a weird action, but he still continued to embrace the pet. He smiled at it.
"For some reason… I want to keep you." Camus admitted, which is very unlike of him. Blushing a little bit, he continued, "I'll name you… Cecil."
It purred in delight.
