Terra sat atop the ledge, her feet dangling a few hundred feet. She adored the tower, sure, and was very thankful of Tony and Pepper for taking her in, but she wasn't fond of the technology and constant reminders of Earth's destruction. Her code name was Mother Nature, so of course it was befitting for her to be concerned for New York City, what with its urban sprawl. Nothing but a sea of buildings, tall and often lit up with lights. She feared the day that Earth ran out of its natural resources.
She closed her eyes and imagined herself anywhere other than there, and realized she couldn't. As much as she hated it, she couldn't imagine herself with any other life than this one. With a sigh and one last glance out to the descending sun, she walked back inside, where she began to tend to her plants, giving each one a special touch of magic to help them grow. She truly had a green thumb, and was superb at being an apothecary, dosing out natural lotions and elixirs for her friends.
Soon, she found herself yawning, and laid down on a nearby couch, and as she slept, vegetation grew around the couch.
The next morning, she woke to Tony picking her up carefully, and walking down the hall. He became aware of the flower blooming in her hair as she cuddled closer to her adoptive father in her sleepy state. She mumbled, "thank you," as he tucked her in her green bed, covered in flower petals. He returned to the couch she had been snoozing on earlier and ordered Jarvis to just buy another couch and toss the now green one out. Perhaps he should consider training her harder. She did still have school, though, and usually spent most of her free time with her plants. Pepper came striding in, holding a cup of coffee and a clipboard. "Ah, Tony, some things you have to approve of." She pushed the cup towards him first, and he took a sip before just signing his name where Pepper pointed out. He had been through this, and knew from years of experience, if Pepper said she had some things he had to approve of, it was better just to sign on the dotted line. Even his daughter knew this, and she had only been in the Stark family for a few months.
During her rather long nap, the common room had filled with Avengers, all ready for a movie night. They had chosen a rom com, something that they knew Terra would love, but she still wasn't up. Natasha volunteered to wake her up, and entered her room to see the girl huddled in the corner, her eyes closed but she was moving, fighting against something that wasn't there. "No, no." The young girl whispered, shaking her head. There were tears in her eyes.
Before she could hear any more, Natasha had bound across the room, and was pulling the teen up into a hug. "Nat?" Terra asked upon seeing the red hair, and Natasha let her go.
"You okay? We're watching a movie if you want to wash up and join us. We picked a rom com." The russian agent pushed back some of Terra's brown hair. The young girl nodded and used the backs of her hands to dry her cheeks, smiling to show she was ready.
The two women waked together to where the others were all sitting, the movie paused on a title screen. Terra gladly took the middle seat, flowers peeking out of her hair in a crown form. It seems that the only one confused about that was Tony's best friend himself, Iron Patriot, also known as Uncle James to Terra.
The movie ended, and Tony had to carry his daughter to bed again. He made sure everyone else had found their rooms before returning to his own, where he found Pepper, whom was already asleep. He quickly stripped down to his boxers and climbed into bed behind her, wrapping an arm around her waist.
