OH AND THANK YOU to those who favourited and reviewed on my FIRST EVER STORY :-)
She said she had somewhere to go for her meeting, even though it was a Sunday. She was smiling at him while adjusting her dress, but it never reached her eyes since two years ago. She hurriedly left their house, then came back again, panting, and hugged him.
"I'm sorry, Draco. But I love you, okay? I'll be back soon," she said, stroking his hair, and left.
He smiled bitterly, and finished his beer. He knew she was not going for her meeting; she was going to her other lover. She loved him, but he also knew she loved the other guy. But it didn't matter, because he loved her too much. Because she was Hermione Malfoy now.
His headache was killing him again. He apparated to buy some more beer for himself, and drank until she was back. She never had a clue that he knew. She lied to him every day and left him for her other guy. It didn't matter who the guy was because he knew he would always forgive Hermione. It didn't matter because she always came back for him.
They were married five years ago, and she was pregnant after their second year. But she had to let the baby go, because the baby died in her stomach. She was crying every day, for their baby. She was depressed, and he couldn't do anything to help her. He had to let her slip away from him and seek solace from the other guy.
Draco wasn't there for Hermione, but the other one was. And she loved the other guy. But she loved Draco too. His headache came back, and he let a few tears escape his eyes. His love, his one and only love was probably snuggling with another guy, smiling a real smile which probably reached her eyes. His heart ached for himself, and drank some more beer.
He looked at the clock. It was three soon. She was coming back soon. He knew she was coming back soon, for him, but he let his head rest on the table and tears wet the wooden table, hair messed up. His shoulders were shaking, and he finished his beer.
He heard the door opening, and Hermione's sweet, lovely voice. "Baby? I'm sorry. I'm back. Where are you?" She called him baby, but he knew he wasn't the only one. Her voice was nearing him, and small, warm hands touched his cheeks.
"Oh, Draco. What…oh, baby. I'm so sorry. You…I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. But…."she was crying, and he knew she had no choice. He knew she loved him, so he hugged her as if to tell her he still loved her. His heart was breaking, but his breaking heart would always, only love Hermione. He stroked her hair as she shook, whispering her apologies that he heard every day. It didn't matter. He loved her. She loved him back. Just not as much as before.
He offered her a smile and with his hurting head, he went up to his study. She couldn't see him breaking. It was enough that he saw himself getting weaker.
He thought he heard her, hugging herself and offering him more apologies, saying, "You always knew. I'm so sorry. I love you. So, so much. Just…"
"You love him so, so much too. I know. It's okay." He whispered, more to himself, but as he went up the stairs, he heard her crying harder.
