Maryse pov
It was a normal day, bright and sunny. Today I am suppose to have a meeting with Clary's mother and father. My old circle members. We had decided that it would be nice to go out to lunch and just talk like old friends.
As I got dressed I put in a nice outfit and my best pearls. Walking out the door and getting in my nice new sports car I started to drive to Luke's house. As I pulled in the drive way I saw that Jocelyn was waiting on the porch.
Getting out of my car, I walked over to her.
"Hello Jocelyn" I said
"Hello Maryse" she answered, "The boys are waiting inside"
"Well let's not keep them waiting shall we." I said and could see the hurt in her eyes as I silently asked her not to talk about it.
It being the fact that my husband was cheating on me and that there was nothing I could do about it. And my poor children, not being able to know the truth.
As we walked into the house I could see that the baseball game was on and the men were in the kitchen eating chips with cheese sauce and salsa , they talking about the baseball game and how some players are better then others in the play offs or something.
"Hello Maryse, nice to see you again." Luke came around and gave me a quick hug.
Then I looked over to my husband, kept his head turned not even noticing my presents.
"Nice to see you too Luke" I replied
"So your oldest son is dating Magnus Bane, am I correct?" Luke asked
"Yes, he is" I answered
"How is that for you, I mean . All of us have known mr. Bane of so long."
"Yes I guess it is pretty.. Different"
"Not that I don't like Magnus but it's just Alec is such a good kid.." Jocelyn added
"Yes and Magnus is a warlock, aren't you ever worried?" Luke finished
"Of course I am, I love my son. But it's not my choice who he can and can't date." I said
"What about you, Robert?" Luke asked
"I think that he is making the biggest mistake of his life, fist off being gay and second dating that idiotic warlock who has dated everyone from here to Australia and back." My husband yelled
"Oh come on, Robert. He is your son, you can't say you don't love him." Jocelyn tried
"Your right, I don't love him. I hate him, he is a disgrace to his family." Robert said then he stomped towards the door, "good bye, I'm not staying around here for This." And with that he was gone.
Jocelyn looked at me with sad eyes.
"I don't need your pity, Jocelyn" I said to her
"I'm not.." She had said
"Yes, yes you are. I have to go now. I want to be near my children before I have to leave for Idris tomorrow." I said as I too left.
As I rode in my car I listened to sad music, until I got home.
I pulled into the institute and went inside, to spend some time with my family.
But as soon as I opened that door, I felt two arms go around me and pulled me into a hug, it was Alec.
"I love you, mom" he said
"I love you too , honey" I said
Then as I thought about it, I felt bad for Robert. He will never get to know the new Alec. The brave, strong man Alec is today. He will never get to see his wonder son grow up. But lucky for me, I get to take the credit all for my self.
