What if... Percy didn't give Luke the knife to kill Kronos?

The knife scattered across the marble floor of the throne room.

"Percy. Please. Hand it to me now... or else you'll all die," Luke said trying to fight against Kronos from taking over his body.

"Percy, give it to him!" Annabeth said.

"I can't." I said. "I don't trust him."

"I do, Percy! We have no other option," Annabeth said.

"Percy, please. I'm trying to help. Please," Luke said.

"When have you ever helped me?" I said.

"That's what I'm trying to change! I've realized how much that I've messed up. I want to change it," Luke said.

"I don't trust you, Luke. After all of that stuff that you did, I can never trust you. Ever. I can kill you myself," I said.

"Percy, you wouldn't," Annabeth's eyes stung with tears.

"I have to," I said.

"No you don't, Percy. Please. Hand me the knife before Kronos takes over my body. And when I die, there will be no Underworld for me to go to," Luke said.

"But, Luke! You can't die! We can fix this! This prophecy doesn't have to be our fate. We can find a way!" Annabeth sad.

"How, Annabeth, how," Luke said.

"We can..." Annabeth said.

"There is no other way. Sacrifices have to be made. I'm ready to make a sacrifice. Please. Let me," Luke said. His eyes were pleading. I wonder what it is like trying to convince your enemy to help you. It should have been impossible. But still, I couldn't trust him. He's decieved me too much. There are no second chances for those who don't deserve them. Luke, definitely did not deserve one. I couldn't simply bring myself to giving it to him.

"I won't."

"You have to, Percy!" Luke screamed. His eyes were even more pleading than before.

I ran toward Luke and he shouted, "It's too late, Percy! Too Late-" Everything happened too quickly. I thrusted the small knife into Luke's arm pit. Or I almost did. Luke exploded into a blazing light. The world was drowned into a burning ball of light. I felt my skin burning off of my body. The last thing I could remember was exploding off of my feet and landing in Annabeth's arms. If I was going to die, this was the way. I wanted to die with Annabeth. It probably wouldn't last though. She would be sent to Elysium I would be sent to the Fields of Punishment.

Kronos is rising. I couldn't prevent it. I should have listened. It's my fault that the world is ending. I was a failure.

Suddenly, I was somewhere else. "Do you have a coin?" It was Charon. The River Styx ferry man. Annabeth was at my side. She was flickering. Like a ghost. And so was I. We died. I reached into my pocket. I found one drachma. Annabeth did too.

"Here, Charon," I said.

And we stepped on the ship to the land of the dead.

That's my What If for today! I'll try to make more! Give me some What Ifs of yours!
