The pain was unimaginable, but Dio didn't feel it. He was focused on the strange new light in Jotaro's eyes. The bright blue looked so familiar, it was on the tip of the blond's tongue. But, in the mere moments before he was fully blown into halves, he saw. He saw Jonathan, separating from Jotaro and hovering just above the teen's shoulder. From torso up, Jonathan looked fairly solid. But lower down, he faded into nothingness, just like Star Platinum usually did. The dying vampire could feel his sides separating, but the stinging, endless pain was nothing compared to how he felt. There was no way to describe this haunting, horrid feeling. He reached out his hand and opened his mouth to say something, anything, but it was at this moment that his body broke apart. Blown in different directions, blood splattered on the road beneath him as he fell back. The last thing he saw before he hit the pavement and his eyes were blinded by his own blood was Jotaro and Jonathan turning and walking away in sync. But unlike Jotaro, Jonathan's stare lingered and his eyes were filled with sorrow, his face somber. That despair ridden gaze was what killed Dio more than actually dying.
