A/N: I heard this song today on the ever-popular (sarcasm) restaurant radio. You know, that background music they play in fast-food joints that is always five years out of date and never contains anything alternative? Well, this song just reminded me so much of Kakuzu and Hidan that I had to write this little drabble. Hope you like it.

"Every heartbeat bears your name

Loud and clear they stake my claim

My red blood runs true blue

And every heartbeat belongs to you!"

Singing loudly and rather off-key, Hidan danced into the Akatsuki headquarters' living room, finishing his routine with a dramatic point towards his only partner and amazing lover, Kakuzu.

Kakuzu tried, he really did, but the smile took over his face without his permission. "Do you have a death wish?" he asked jokingly.

"Ah, you know it baby!" said Hidan.

Kakuzu chuckled. "So what's got you so worked up?"

"It's just been a great day. My last mission practically required me to send seven sacrifices to Jashin, my new hair gel arrived today, and, thank Jashin, Zetsu is not making dinner tonight!"

Kakuzu shuddered, remembering the cannibal's idea of 'dinner.' "So who is cooking?"

"Dunno. Deidara, I think," Hidan grabbed Kakuzu's arm. "C'mon, sweetheart, dance with me!"

"Now I know you have a death wish," Kakuzu said. Nevertheless he stood up easily enough and started turning with Hidan. A fast waltzing movement was about as close to dancing as Kakuzu ever got.

"You're not asking for the world

I'm not asking for perfection

Just a love that's well designed

For passing the test of time

I'm here to tell you, I'm here to stay

Every hour, every day."

"Aw, lighten up!" Hidan said.

"Is that how you want to go? Lightning?"

Hidan looked thoughtful for a moment. "Hmmm, tempting, but tonight I was hoping for something a bit more," Hidan spun, pulling in close and wrapping Kakuzu's arm around him "physical."

Kakuzu grinned and bit Hidan's ear. "Whatever you want, baby."

Hidan shuddered. "Don't do that. The last time we got blood on the carpet Pein made me clean it up."

Kakuzu spun Hidan out again, only to pull him in for a kiss. "Tonight, then. C'mon, let's go see if dinner is ready."

"Yeah sure maybe I'm on the edge

But I love you baby and like I said

I'm here to tell you, I'm here to stay

Every hour, every day."
