This is my first story, please review.
Peyton Sawyer took a deep breath as she entered the house she had once left behind, six years ago. She immediately looked around the house, noticing it had hardly changed since she left. She smiled as she walked into the kitchen and realized what a mess it was. She then ventured back into the living room where she threw herself onto the couch. I've missed this place, she thought to herself as she closed her eyes. As soon as she began to relax her phone started to ring. "Hello?" Peyton answered.
"Hey best friend, I got your message," Brooke spoke on the other line. "How are you holding up?"
"I think he is going to be okay. He is still at the hospital, asleep. I do think he will be allowed home in the next few days."
"That's good," Brooke began, "Well Haley, Nathan, James, and I are still coming to see you!" Brooke squealed with excitement.
"Brooke, I know you guys are busy in New York. You don't need to do that. Everything is going to be fine."
"Oh my gosh. I try to make an excuse for us to come and visit my best friend and you don't even want us to!"
Peyton began to laugh, "Of course I want you guys to come. I miss you like crazy, you know that."
"Good, we will be there in the morning!" Brooke then hung up the phone before Peyton could protest.
Peyton smiled as soon as she realized Brooke had hung up on her. She hasn't changed much, Peyton thought. She was happy about seeing her friends again; it had been six months since she had seen all of them.
The next morning Peyton woke up to the knock of her door. She got up, realizing she had fallen asleep on her couch. Peyton stumbled up to look out the window to see Brooke, Nathan, Haley, and James all standing outside. Peyton swung the door open as fast as she could and smiled at them all. She threw her arms around her three old friends and pulled them into a huge group hug. "I've missed you guys so much." Peyton smiled at each of them.
"Okay Sawyer, time to let go," Nathan demanded as he tried to pull himself away from the blonde.
Peyton stepped back and looked down at James. "Jamie! Look at you! You have grown so much since I last saw you." Peyton kneeled down to his level, "I'm sure all of the girls are chasing you around." Peyton then to hugged him.
"Hi Auntie Peyton." James smiled back at her. "How's your daddy?"
Peyton smiled across at him. "He is going to be good, he is recovering from a stroke, but everything is going to be fine." James through his arms around her for one more hug. "Little Jamie Scott you are just adorable." Peyton laughed. She stood up and invited everyone into the house.
They all made their way into the kitchen where they fixed themselves some coffee and orange juice for Jamie. "So…" Haley began as she handed the cup down to James, "Have you seen Lucas yet?"
Peyton's eyes shifted nervously from her mug of coffee over to Haley. She shook her head no. "It's only a matter of time before I do, right? Have you spoken to him lately? How is he?"
"He's good Peyton, and no he is not seeing anyone." Haley giggled.
"I didn't ask. And I'm not interested." She stated. "I have a boyfriend back in L.A. and I do not need another chapter written in the story of Lucas and Peyton."
"A.K.A. 'Leyton'" Brooke interrupted with a laugh. "You may have a boyfriend, but that won't stop the two of you. I sure as hell couldn't have stopped you guys." Brooke shrugged. "We all know I sure tried.
Peyton laughed and shook her head. "Nope. Lucas and I haven't spoken in over five years, and I don't plan on changing that."
"So you're just going to ignore the guy?" Nathan asked.
Peyton sighed. "I can try."
Brooke and Haley both laughed. "Good luck." They said in unison.
