I never thought I could feel,

The way that I do now.

I saw you from across the room,

In your beautiful short white gown.

You pointed up to the stars above,

All I did was sigh.

I never had someone notice me,

And really didn't care why.

You pulled me onto the floor,

Insisting I should dance.

Although I only tripped and fell,

You still gave me a chance.

I spun you around quickly,

Your laugh was so carefree.

You eyes were so breathtaking,

And they were only on me.

I pulled you into my arms,

As the fireworks lit the sky.

And for the first time I smiled,

Cause you were at my side.

That was when it happened,

You glanced straight past me.

I asked you what you saw,

But you said you had to leave.

You backed away slowly,

Turning to face the door.

You spoke a soft 'good-bye',

And left me alone on the ballroom floor.

I felt my heart sink,

As I watched you stroll away.

And for the rest of the night,

I wanted to find you…
