I wake up at six in the morning, tired with bags under my eyes from staying up late doing my essay for journalism and notes for A.P physical science. I am a very smart kid, or a nerd if you will, i'm kind of use to the name calling at school so whatever. Then i start to actually move from my bed and put clothes on, just a plain gray long sleeve shirt and ripped black skinny jeans with black converses. After that i go to the kitchen and make myself plain eggs, then after i feed finox. As i leave i grab my dark gray jacket and put it on as i shut and lock the door behind me. I sigh as my side bag hits the back of my leg every time i take a step. "I'm so not ready for any of this.." i say as i approach the school doors with the words 'Ken High' on it.

When i open the door i try to make a b-line to my locker as fast as i could without being noticed by jocks and stupid ass bullies. When i turn the corner i see my locker and gain way to it, Jason the jackass stands in front of me. I stop in my tracks and look at him, he is a football player and eye level to me, he's blonde with green eyes and a smile that can blind a person. Though, he has his flaws, like being an ass hole. " Yo, fag i've sure missed you." He says in a sarcastic tone. Then he pushes me, which would've been okay if there hadn't been a leg behind me. I fall on my back as people stop to look and laugh, i groan and look at him to see, he has my bag. " Black, black, black. Is that all the colors you know?" He then dump my things out of it and throws the bag at me. Then i, not being so smart, say.." No, don't you see?" i stand on my feet and point to my shirt. " it's gray, not black so i do know colors beyond black, and if you're going to insult me, use proper grammar. it's 'color' not 'colors' it shouldn't be plural if you're talking about just one color." i say matter-of-factly and a bit sarcasmic.

He pierces me with his eyes, beaming at me with anger. He then comes to me and grabs my gray shirt and pulls me a bit to him. " Eden, if you know better then you'll shut the hell up, you freak." He says seething with anger.

" Woah, if i'd know better it looks like you're coming on to me." I say, a bit shocked after.

" Since it's the first day, freak i'll let you off with a warning." He then puts me down and right when i am reaching my things he punches me in the gut, hard. i fall to the ground holding my stomach, coughing. " that was the warning, freak." He laughs and walks away with his 'friends' or whatever you call them. Everyone starts to leave then a beautiful looking girl that i've never noticed before kneels next to me. " Hey, you okay?" she asked frantically, like she knew me.

" Yeah, just fine." i state while sitting up and picking my thing off the ground and into my bag next me. I then stand up and feel the pain in my stomach worsen as i stood and winced a bit. The girl took my arm and she put it around her neck, i look at her and really see how gorgeous she looks. She has pretty long black hair with bangs that covers one of her eyes, and the blue in her black hair pops out beautifuly. She has gray eyes and pale skin too, she has a few freckles and an amazing smile. I blush and look down " thanks.." I say meekly. She looks at me and smiles " No problem, and i'm definitely taking you to the nurses, kay?" she starts walking me there. " Kay."

When we arrive, their was no nurse, i suppose it's because it's the first day of school and they didn't think they'd need one. " Here, sit down." she said pulling a chair next to her while she sat on a bench in front of me. I sit down and bite my lip trying not to wince again. " Thanks again for helping the 'freak'." i say laughing a bit.

" you're not a freak." she says as she fishes in the aid kit for pills. " you're unique, and you shouldn't listen to that ruthless jackass anyways." she then finds the pills and gets two out and hands them to me as she gets up to get water for me, then comes back as she hands the paper cup to me. I throw the pills in my mouth and take a drink of water then lean back in my chair, throwing the cup in the trash next to me. " yeah, i suppose. But indeed he is a ruthless jackass." i say smiling. she laughs cutely and i look at her blushing a bit, damn, she's beautiful. Then she waves infront of me. " Hello?" she says teasingly. My face turns more red, if that is even possible and i scratch the back of my head and look the other way, laughing cheekly. " S-sorry, i kind of dazed out.."

She smiles " It's okay, cause you're cute." she says with a tint of pink on her cheeks.

I look at her and smile " I know right?" i say jokingly. She then hits my knee playfully.

" I take it back!"

" Sorry, ma'am. No refunds." i say happily. " and i didn't catch you're name, mine is Eliot Eden." i extend my hand infront of her smiling.

" Kat Ashbe." she grabs my hand and shakes it slowly.

We talked for awhile, forgetting about everything else, talking about our favorite bands like Black Veil Brides, BOTDF, and Sleeping With Sirens plus many more also our favorite food and most hated foods, like spinach, yuck. Apparently she hates spinach too, thank gosh cause i don't think i could be friends with someone who loves spinach (joke..maybe.) Kat loves candy, especially sour gummy worms and peach rings and gummy bears. Mostly all gummys. After hours of talking and laughing the bell rings, we both look at the clock which reads three, crap. We missed the whole day of school talking, how is this even possible? We look at each other for about ten seconds then start laughing. " How did we manage to miss seven hours while talking?" she says while smiling. " i mean, i'm not complaining. The day went better than i thought!" she stated happily.

" Yeah, today rocked. I'm happy I've meet you." i said smiling.

" Me too." she stands up then her stomach growls slightly. She blushes and covers her stomach. " i think my tummy is trying to tell me something." she says jokingly.

I stand up and realize she's up to my shoulders and i smile a bit. " Wanna get a bite somewhere? Maybe at the deli around the corner?" Her eyes brighten up as she looks at me then grabs my arm jumping a bit. " You mean the one by the candy store?!" she grins happily.

" Yes, Kat the one by the candy store, we can go there after we eat, okay?" she blushes a bit and lets go of my arm, which kind of made me..sad.

" I'd love that, Eliot." she says while locking arms with me. I blush, not just because we locked arms, but the way she said my name. She didn't say it different, but i think it's because she said it.
