Hey everyone! I read the forty-third chapter of FirstFandomFangirl's story, Return of the Overlord and decided to write a oneshot about Lloyd finally reuniting with his father, since that scene wasn't included in the chapter.
Also, the title is from a song by Laura Shigihara and Kan R. Gao with the same name, from the video game To The Moon, which I listened to at one point in time while writing this.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters. Lloyd, Garmadon, Misako, Morro, and Zane belong to Lego, the Hageman Brothers, and Warner Bros. Indigo belongs to FirstFandomFangirl and Jessica belongs to Windy.
Lloyd, Zane, Indigo, Jessica and Morro walked into the monastery. Misako was there, and Lloyd and his mother instantly embraced each other.
"Lloyd! You're back! You're not hurt, are you?" she asked, relieved, pulling away.
"No, Mom. I'm fine. Where...Where's Dad?"
"He's been upstairs, locked in his room for days. He was very devastated upon finding out that you'd been captured. We all thought that you died. Come with me. You really should see him."
The group went upstairs, heading to Garmadon's room. Misako knocks on the door.
"It's me, Misako."
The door is opened, and Garmadon gasped in absolute disbelief.
"Lloyd?! Is it...Is it actually you?!"
"Yes, Dad. Yes. It really is."
"LLOYD!" he exclaimed, taking his son's hands and pulling him in close instantly. He attempted to hold back tears, but to no avail, and began sobbing vehemently into his son's arms. "Oh...Oh, Lloyd…"
I just can't believe it! Lloyd, you...you're actually alive. You were alive...this whole time! I...I thought you died! I can't even imagine what I would've done if you were killed! You-You're everything to me!
Jessica couldn't help but smile. The two of them just looked so happy to see each other.
As for Garmadon, however, he was filled so overwhelmingly with relief and joy that his son was still alive and safe in his arms at last. For the past few days, he had been solely convinced that Lloyd was dead, isolating himself from the rest of the team, but as of now, it apparently didn't turn out that way.
Indigo turned to Morro and said, "You know, Morro, if you hadn't shown up in the alleyway and Lloyd hadn't found you, this never would've happened. Lloyd never would've been reunited with his father in the first place."
"I never realized that. I'm glad I changed sides." Morro replied back.
Garmadon eventually came to his senses and pulled away, taking Lloyd's hands. "I'm so, so happy that you're alright! I seriously thought that you died! I've missed you very much, Lloyd, but I'm just glad you're here now."
Lloyd embraced his father once more. At long last the two were finally together after days apart. And Garmadon wouldn't have had it any other way.
So yeah. It's somewhat short, but whatever!
Cya, bye!
