Two tall figures in tan hooded coats traversed the eerily barren streets of Nowhere. The two wore huge black sunglasses and covered their face with the rim of their hood and constantly glanced back.

A black car passed by causing one of them to tremble uncontrollably, the other quickly pulled them into an alleyway and behind a dumpster.

"It's alright Bunny. I won't let that rotten mutt get you. I'm here, don't fret." The figure whispered as she pulled down the hood revealing the face of a feline.

"I'm sorry Kitty." Bunny pulled her own hood down as she held back tears and lean on Kitty for support. "Don't ever apologize. It's not your fault." Kitty hugged her tight holding back her own tears.

Oh, why can't this nightmare end? Why couldn't they have a happy ending? Kitty thought to herself in that moment.

They had been on the run from Mad Dog, they since changed the alias to Mew and Rabbit and have dodged him and his goons for a while now. They've been caught twice but luckily the two escaped with no harm done to them. This possessive pup has issues, he always had them, but this is the worst they seen him in. Angry, unstable, and stubborn is a dangerous combination.

After minutes of keeping down, Kitty and Bunny finally gathered the courage to peek around their cover. Kitty's eye widen when she recognized a certain pink jelly bean-shaped dog in front of a grocery store.

"Courage! Courage, it's us!" Kitty shouted from across the street and made Courage's ears perk up. The bags he held dropped to the floor as he ran up to the two women. He jumped and Kitty and Bunny caught him and all three hugged.

"Oh it's been so long, my friend", Kitty was so thankful to see Courage, "I never thanked you properly."

"It's alright! No need to thank me!" Courage said.

"I really hate to ask, but would you please help us? Mad Dog is after us!", Kitty's tone is desperate and had a hint of fear, "Of course! I will help you as much as I can!", Courage determinedly responded.

"Thank you, thank you!", the three hug tighter, Bunny did not stop the tears from rolling down her cheek, she is so happy, everything will be fine.

A/N: Short and sweet one-shot. This was originally a drabble challenge I written for Tumblr but I liked the concept enough to redo it(without the 4-5 sentence restriction). Criticisms and reviews are welcome.
