Great Ball of Fire
A giant ball of flaming earth was hurtling at me. It felt like just me. No one else.
I can't move. My brain screams, "Move! You'll die if you don't! Come on! Listen to me!" My legs refuse.
My life flashes before my eyes. All my memories. Everything. My life would actually make a good story. Too bad it's all about to end.
All my friend's faces flash before my eyes. My loyal friends, with me till the end. That end is near.
I get to the last face. My best friend. Friend. If only it could have been more. If only I could have told her. Now that I think about it I had ample opportunity. Like this morning for instance. Had I been clear enough? Did she understand what I meant? Does she understand I love her!
I want to know if she loves me. Want? No, that word is too weak. It will never suffice. Need is a better word. I need to know.
Now I understand. She is my drive. She keeps me going. Seeking this tiny bit of information is another part of my drive. This piece of knowledge could change my entire world. Whether or not for the better is yet to be seen. I have to know!
What am I doing? Why aren't I moving? I need to know! Now when I say move my legs agree. I even have seconds to spare. The piece of earth crashes down where I had been standing a few seconds before.
Now I know I have to keep moving. Dodge this attack and that one too. Even launch a few of my own. Everything that goes on from now on will get me one step closer to the piece of knowledge I seek. Closer to being able to ask my question.
"Katara I love you."
"I love you too Aang."
Ya, sorry it's so short, but i didn't think i could really add very much else. Please R&R so i can improve my writing next time!
