I wrote this a while back, I don't remember everything, but I read through it so I'll try to pick up where I left. I'm writing mainly for my own enjoyment, so I can't guarantee it will be good. English is not my first language by the way. Try to enjoy it anywhere, I don't think my english is that terrible. (Of course, there is a chance that I am mistaken.)
So basically this is the CSIs at high school. Their age is changed so that they could all be in the same class/school, and the characters may be somewhat out-of-character at times. I try to keep it close to how the characters are on screen while imagining how they were back in high school.
I won't reveal too much about the pairings here, but for all EC fans; of course there will be EC here! As well as other pairings of course, I just had to mention EC as they are my favorite.
"Hey Calleigh, wait up!"
She turned around to see her bestfriend jogging up to her, while trying to balance the food on his tray. "Easy, superguy. You might be the hero on the court but here you're just as mortal as the rest of us", she joked. He grinned and walked beside her.
"Please, Cal, you know I can do anything", Eric grinned down at her. He loved teasing her about the height different, but he rarely did it because he didn't want to get his ass kicked by the little blonde, and he felt a little guilty for all the pain she probably got from always wearing heels, even though he knew it really had nothing to do with him.
"Why aren't you sitting with all the other jocks?"
"Yo don't want me to sit with you?"
"Of course I do! You must be getting tired of me though" she laughed and ate the grapes on his plate while they walked. "You're my best friend, I couldn't get tired of you even if I wanted to" he laughed. Best friends. It seemed like a vague description of their relationship. He would walk through fire for her any day, he thought to himself.
"If you wanted to what?" Catherine Willows asked as they sat down, obviously having picked up on their conversation on their way to the table.
"Hello to you too, curious" Eric laughed and sat down beside Calleigh. He'd grown to like Catherine Flynn, she was entertaining and fun at parties.
"It's healthy to be curious. You're not flawless either, Delko", she answered, and Calleigh laughed and playfully hit his chest. It was 3 weeks since the school year started, and it was Catherine's second school year in Miami. Her mother had sent her, because she was afraid that her behavior was getting out of control, especially with her boyfriend Eddie around. Well, ex-boyfriend. He was a real dickhead. That's how Catherine described it. Miami may not be the perfect place to send an out-of-control teenager to, but Catherine secretly thought that her mother couldn't handle the responsibility, and just wanted to spend time with her so called "friend", Sam Braun. He paid all expenses for her while she lived in Miami. Friend my ass, she thought. Catherine was living with her friend, entomology student Gil Grissom, whom was in his fourth year of college. He kept her somewhat in line. Natalia and Maxine also came to sit down. "Am I the only guy here?!" Eric laughed as the girls now surrounded him. "Where's Ryan?"
"I thought you said you wanted a guy here", Catherine said, making Calleigh giggle a little, and Eric and Maxine burst into laughter. Natalia just rolled her eyes, and tried not to laugh at her boyfriend. "He's coming, he's just…"
She looked around, avoiding the answer, because she knew it would make them laugh even harder. "He's… putting his telescope in his locker." She just managed to press it out before she started laughing herself.
"Man, I have to talk to you", a voice sounded and a tall, brown haired guy with a football T-shirt and well trained body just like Eric's came to sit down beside him.
"Hey ladies, I'm Lou Vartann", he interrupted himself as he saw all the attractive ladies around the table. "What did you have to say, Lou?" Eric laughed, because Lou was clearly distracted.
"Oh, yeah. Party. You up for it? Peter's parents are out of town this weekend, and he is having a party. "
"I'm in", Catherine said casually, and continued to eat, with all eyes on her.
"What, am I not invited? I can party too, you know" she continued as she locked directly into the eyes of Lou and decided that she had to get to know him better.
"Oh, we know you can, Catherine", Natalia laughed and received agreeing replies from everyone around the table, except from Lou, whom had yet to get to know her.
"It's settled then, we're all coming...right?" Catherine asked, but everyone knew it was more a demand then a question. "I'm in", Calleigh said. Eric too, and Natalia. "You know I'm in", Maxine said, super-serious, making Natalia laugh. "Yes! Me and Max will turn that party upside down!" Catherine said, confident as always.
"So how come I've never seen you around here before, Lou?" Natalia asked, always being polite. "Because you don't look like a freshman."
He shaked his head and chuckled. "Oh, no. Not a freshman. I'm a senior, but I'm from Vegas. I am simply taking a Miami year." If he hadn't said anything he could easily pass as a guy who had lived in Miami his entire life, he had this laid-back Florida-thing going on.
"I'm from Vegas too!" Catherine exclaimed.
"Really? Cool", Vartann said. "Are you one of those who are here on that chemistry program thing? I heard there were many from Vegas there."
Catherine smirked. "Not exactly", she said and gave him a playful wink. The others chuckled, but he didn't quite understand it. Instead of explaining herself, she let Calleigh do it for her. "Catherine… had a little too much fun in Vegas. Her mom thought she needed change." Catherine smirked again. "Yup. She sent me to the party capital of Florida to focus on schoolwork. She's a real genius." Lou couldn't help but laugh at the strawberry-blonde's sarcastic sense of humor.
"Alright. Well, I told you I'm a senior, how about you?", he asked, barely remembering the other people sitting around the same table. "Senior, going on my second year in Miami." She showed off a perfect row off pearl white teeth. She was really, really easy on the eyes, so he had no trouble imagining the trouble she got into that had her sent here. The three others were lookers too, but Catherine had a bad girl-vibe to her. He tried to stay away from the craziest ones, though. "And you girls…" He directed his attention to the three other girls. "Mind telling me your names?" They all introduced themselves. Just when they were about to continue their little chat, they heard the sound of a screaming girl. They turned around so see a very angry red haired girl in a pink tank top wiping chili off it, and a scared, apologizing African American guy with an afro and glasses standing beside her trying to help, only to get aggressively waved off. "Oh, man" Lou said. No one removed could take their eyes off the somewhat amusing situation. "It's my roommate, Warrick. He always gets himself wrapped up in shit like that. They tried to suppress their laughter; they all knew it was mean to laugh, but it was just so damn funny to watch
"Please don't see me, please don't see me, please don't see me" Lou hummed. His prayers weren't answered.
"Lou, hey! Can I sit with you?" he called and almost ran over to their table. Lou looked like he wanted to say no, but the look he received from the others told him otherwise. He finally gave in. "Fine, sit down."
"Thanks!" Warrick said. "Hey I'm Warrick Brown, I'm Lou's roommate." After that he kept his mouth shut for most of the time, but he seemed to be at ease.
"So, Catherine, who's your roommate? You can't be living alone.." Lou said, fishing for information about a possible boyfriend. "I'm not", she said. "I'm living with a friend, Gil." Lou looked surprised, and he was definitely disappointed. The rest had had their thoughts too when they found out that she lived with a college senior. They quickly experienced though, that Catherine's relationship with her roommate were in no way romantic. "Gil isn't really that social though, he enjoys spending time alone", she continued. "Is he a senior like you?" Lou continued asking, still fishing. He knew from previous experience that flirting with girl in a relationship only led to trouble.
"Oh, no. He's older."
"So you're into older guys, huh" he said, trying to keep his voice light and playful.
"I'm not dating him, God no. Are you crazy?" Catherine exclaimed. He immediately regret his words, not really sure why her sudden attitude.
"Don't let her scare you, Lou. She doesn't bite", Natalia laughed.
"How would you know? Sorry, just trying to make people understand that you don't have to share a bed to share an apartment", Catherine said. Lou wasn't quite sure if she was the cheerleader type of girl or not. Did she have the body? Hell yeah, he knew just from what he could see of her behind the cafeteria table. Was she the jumping, dancing, preppy type? First impression said no. Just then a brown-haired guy Lou had seen only a couple of times in the hallways the past few weeks showed up, he was the boyfriend of the girl whom now had presented herself to him as Natalia. "Sorry guys, I had to…"
"They know, they know. Don't let them hear it twice" Natalia cut him off, and gave him a peck on the lips as he sat down. "Hey, I'm Ryan Wolfe." He shook hands with Lou.
"I'm Lou Vartann, nice to meet you."
"Hey, Nat, what's your next class?" Ryan asked, pulling out a white piece of paper with all his classes written down.
"I have English."
"Damn, I have P.E", Ryan said.
"You could just hide under the bleachers", Maxine said. "Bring Natalia, I'm sure she'd prefer getting cozy under the bleachers over English any day."
"No, Maxine. That's you", Natalia said.
The group continued their little chit-chat for a while, until lunch break was over. Ryan nearly tripped in his own feet rushing out the door.
"Chill Ryan, you won't be late. P.E is just around the corner" Maxine pointed out.
"Let him go, he needs time to mentally prepare" Eric said, earning an insulted look from Ryan before he rushed away.
"Play nice, Eric", Calleigh said, trying not to smile. She knew Ryan could take it, he wasn't weak, and he didn't take it seriously. Thank God he didn't, that would result in a lot of bad feelings. "Bye Cal" he smiled back at her, and walked in the opposite direction to his own class. She just rolled her eyes smiling and jogged to catch up with Catherine.
