Percy's POV:
I wake to the warm sunlight dancing across my face. I look over and see my beautiful girlfriend curled up in my arms. She looks so peaceful when she's sleeping her hair forming a halo of golden curls surrounding her face. I still can't believe that she's all mine. If someone had told me that I'd be dating Annabeth Chase 11 years ago when I was 12 I would have just laughed. Yet here we are now through everything, together.
I press a quick but loving kiss to her forehead. Careful not to wake her, I slowly untangle myself from her. I watch her for a second as she curls around the sheets as if she's sensed my disappearance.
I go into the bathroom and jump into the shower. I stand there as the hot water fall all around me shrouding me in mist. Suddenly it hits me. I'd been thinking about it for a while but now I'm ready. I finish my shower quickly instantly dry off. Perks of being a son of Poseidon I guess. I quickly dress in a white t-shirt and jeans. I pull on a blue plaid flannel and a pair of converse sneakers.
I enter the kitchen and grab a blueberry muffin. I turn on the french press and pour in the coffee grounds. While it cooks I write a note for Annabeth. Grabbing a cup of coffee I go outside and climb into my car. I turn on the GPS and head off.
Annabeth POV:
When I wake up I realize, sadly, that Percy is missing. I sit up and look around the small room. The closet door is open and his clothes are spilled out across the floor.
"Seaweed brain," I mutter, but I can't keep the smile from my face.
Percy is an idiot but he's my idiot and I love him anyway. I don't even know where he's gone but I miss him already. Everytime he leaves it brings back the painful traumatic memories of when Hera took him away from me. I love the way his floppy black hair falls constantly into his eyes, the way his bright sea green eyes light up and sparkle when he sees me, the way he always smells like the ocean perfectly. I love his crooked grin. I love the way he calls be wise girl so endearingly so loving. I love the way he scrunches up his forehead when he tries to understand something. I love the baby seal faces he uses to convince me to forgive him when he does something stupid or childish.I love the way his lips feel on mine capturing my breath so delicate but so passionate.
'Snap out of it Annabeth,' I chide myself. 'He's coming back this time.'
I climb out of bed and make my way into the kitchen. I go to get a glass of water, but a white piece of paper with my name on it stops me. Its a note from the seaweed brain himself.
Annabeth,
I have gone out for a couple of hours. Enjoy yourself for the time being (as well as you can without me). I love you more than you will ever know.
Love,
The one and only Perseus "Seaweed Brain" Jackson
I laugh softly at his childishness. Well I guess I have some time to work on my gift for Percy. Today is the 8 year anniversary of our first kiss in Mt. St. Helens. That was when I finally admitted to myself and forcefully to Aphrodite that I had more than friendly feeling towards Percy. I'm sure that he forgot being the seaweed brain he is, but this day still means something to me.
Sighing I go into the my study. Technically its supposed to be our study but really since when does Percy actually study. The only time Percy is ever in here is when he is looking for me, which is a lot might I add.
I pull out the small pieces of metal and clay I've been working with courtesy of Leo Valdez. Oh yeah he showed up about a week later with Calypso. They just got married last year. But that's beside the point, stupid ADHD. Anyway I'm making Percy a bead for his camp necklace reflection our relationship. I hope he likes it. I mean being a child of Athena and a perfectionist, I've spent over 5 hours on it.
I look at it almost satisfied. I settle down to paint the last remaining details on it.
Percy POV:
When I finish I walk back outside to my car. Standing there was my dad. Not Paul but my real father Poseidon.
"Dad," I said. "What are you doing here?"
"Perseus," I wince when he uses my full name. "I would like to offer you a wedding gift."
"What?" I manage out. "But I haven't even asked Annabeth yet."
"Well consider it a token of luck."
"What if she says not?" I inquire.
"Lets not think about that possibility, son." My father tells me.
"Well since you're here," I say. "What is the gift of yours?"
"Why don't we go sit inside your car and I'll tell you. Its quite hot even at 10:30 am" Poseidon says looking at his watch.
Once my father tells me everything he bids me goodbye. I put my hand over my eyes to cover them as Poseidon glows and goes back to where ever.
I can't shake the goofy grin from my face as I drive home. I get out of the car and talk up the steps to our house. We moved in a month ago. I still haven't conceived Annabeth to paint the outside from grey to blue. Sorry stupid ADHD always getting me off track.
I put everything in my pocket and open the door. I close the door quietly behind me and sneak down the corridor. I see Annabeth looking lost in thought in the middle of the room. I creep up behind her and snake my arms around her.
She spins faster than seemingly possible and I find myself on the floor with Annabeth's foot on my torso.
"Seaweed brain!" She scolds. "You scared the crap out of me. I thought you were a monster."
I smirk before kicking her foot out from under her. She falls on top of me with a loud ooph. Suddenly I realize how close we are. I quickly close the small gap and capture her lips with mine. She responds almost instantly to my kiss. I roll swiftly to the side and dash up and around the house.
"PERSEUS JACKSON!" Annabeth screams after me.
I know that I'm in serious trouble. Looking up I realize that I'm heading straight of a wall. Terrified I look around for an escape. I find none. Oh no. I see Annabeth coming closer and closer to me. I try not to look as scared as I am. If you've ever been on the wrong end of an angry Annabeth you would be a horrified as I am. I know Percy Jackson savior of Olympus scared of his girlfriend, but gods she can terrifying.
Annabeth approached me slowly. She come right up to me and presses herself against me. Her breath feels hot on my neck. By now my heart is beating out of my chest. She moves as if to kiss me but instead turns her head and leans to my ear.
"You're such a tease seaweed brain." She whispers before pulling away.
Oh man what am I going to do with myself. Snap out of it Percy.
"Annabeth we're leaving in 20 minutes," I call out to her.
"Where are we going?" She asks.
"You'll just have to wait," I reply with a grin.
"Ugh," Is all she says before retreating in our room locking me out.
I go into the living room and turn on the TV. I surf through the channels before finally settling on Finding Nemo. Hey don't judge me its a good movie.
Finally its time to go. I grab the rose from the fridge and knock on the bedroom door. Moments later Annabeth emerges. She's wear a pair of white skinny jeans, a bright blue sweater, and gray vans. Her beautiful golden princess curls fell down around her face framing her stormy grey eyes and pale pink lips. In other words she looked amazing.
"Close your mouth seaweed brain, you'll catch flies." She tells me.
I compose myself.
"You look beautiful wise girl."
I offer her my arm.
"My lady."
Laughing she takes my arm and we walk outside into the warm afternoon air. I lead her to the car opening the door for her before going around to my side.
The entire ride she keeps pestering me about the location, but I refused to let it slip.
Finally we reach the Long Island Sound. I put a blindfold on Annabeth who protests half heartedly knowing that I'm not going to take it off. I take her around the back of Camp Halfblood and unto the beach.
I pull off the blindfold. Annabeth looks around and gasps when she realizes where we are.
"Percy," She exclaimed. "You didn't have to do this."
"Anything for my wise girl."
Before Annabeth could do anything else I picked her up bridal style.
"PERSEUS JACKSON PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!" Annabeth screeched.
Laughing I ran into the ocean. I created an air bubble and waited underwater for my father. Annabeth kept looking at me strangely but I just kept grinning.
Annabeth slapped me on the cheek.
"Percy tell me now."
In response I reached over and tickled her.
Annabeth POV:
How dare he. Percy knows how ticklish I am. I laugh and shriek as he continues to poke me. I see Percy towering over me. Laughing I pull my seaweed brain down on top of me. I feel his heart beating loudly and the hot touch of his breath on my face.
I close my eyes and he closes the gap. Everytime we kiss it feels like the first time. When our lips connect the sparks fly like the fourth of July. I'll never stop loving the way his lips feel on mine, how easily we move as one single being. Living. Breathing.
Percy nips gently on my bottom lip begging for entrance. I try to resist but I eventually let him, melting into his touch. While he's distracted I flip us so that I am now on top. I start biting and sucking at his neck. Below me Percy moans softly with pleasure. In response I recapture his mouth with mine.
Suddenly the air bubble pops. I see a flash of white light. When the bubbles clear I look around for Percy. What I find surprises me. Percy is floating in front of me, but where his legs should be theres a tail. Scales and all. Also did I mention that his shirt disappeared.
He catches me looking at him and smirks. Percy stretched out horizontally manipulation the current.
Putting his hands on his head and hip he says, "Hey wise girl. Paint me like one of those french girls."
I burst out laughing. Than I look down. I can't believe I just realized that I have a pale grey swim top and a tail like Percy, though he isn't wearing a bikini.
"Surprise!" Percy exclaims.
"Well what are you waiting for?" I ask him. "Come on."
Without waiting for an answer I start swimming off towards the reef. Percy quickly follows me. I gasp as I look around. Underwater is beautiful. I notice Percy over a little ways talking to some fish.
Finally he comes back over.
"Watch," Is all he says and swims back.
All of a sudden the reef comes to life with fish and other aquatic creatures.
The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?
Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin'
Full time to floatin'
Under the sea…
My boyfriend is so childish, but I love him anyway if not more. Percy is my everything.
"So how was that?" Percy inquires sidling up next to me.
"It was amazing seaweed brain," I tell him.
I pull up a small ring of seaweed from the sea floor and place it on his head.
"I now officially dub you Seaweed Brain," I tell him with a smile.
He just smiles at me and takes my hand.
For the next couple of hours we swim around the reef enjoying ourselves immensely. Playing with the animals and just observing our surroundings. For once its Percy rambling on about this fish or that aquatic plant.
"No. Shoo. Bad fishy. Stay away," I hear Percy from behind me.
"Woah Percy what did the poor fish ever do to you?" I ask him.
"He….. uh….. was hitting on you," He admitted sheepishly.
"Oh seaweed brain."
I give him a quick but meaningful kiss.
"I would never leave you after all this time especially for a fish."
"Hahaha take that fishy!"
I just laugh at my boyfriends childish behavior. Percy looks up at the surface seeming to judge the time.
"Its time Annabeth," He tells me. "Follow me."
Together we swim off hand in hand. The water begins to change color reflecting the deep purples and oranges of the sunset. The light bounces off coral and shimmers through the rippling water.
Finally we reach a small cave and Percy leads me inside. The minute we enter the cave's air bubble, our clothes reappear replacing the tails.
"Stay here beautiful," Percy says giving me a short kiss.
I look around the cave. All along the roof there are stalactites of some type of teal gem. The walls look like granite. Sweet smelling candles have been placed all around the cavern in every nook and cranny lighting the room with a warm glow. Finally in the center of a room is a grand king size bed made with silk grey and sea foam green bedding. It was beautiful.
"Annabeth," Percy calls.
I turn around to face him with a smile.
"Wise girl when I first saw you I knew that you were different from any other girl I'd ever met. Through quests and relaxation I began to fall in love with you. Every summer at camp I fell more deeply in love with everything about you. Everyday I see you I fall in love with you even more. I love you, everything about you. Every perfect imperfection. You are my entire world. I would turn down immortality for you every single day for the rest of my life. I would fall into Tartarus ten thousand times for you. I love you more than you'll ever and I want to show you everyday until I die."
Percy got down on one knee pulling out a small box.
"Annabeth Chase will you marry me?"
I put my hands to my mouth eyes shining.
"Yes," I manage to breathe out.
I launch myself at him and kiss him. Not breaking constant once, Percy picks me up and sets me gently down on the bed.
My hands reach up and unbuttoned his flannel as he reaches for my sweater pulling it over my head.
"I love you seaweed brain."
"I love you wise girl."
Now we are not two people in love, but one bound together by love. Living. Breathing. Together.
