A/N: The idea jumped in my head while listening to my radio, forcing me to
drop everything I was doing at the time. I'm up for improvement, so let me
know what you think and what I could add! Hopefully this will help me get
over that huge writers' block that's sitting on my pen (or quill) and wont
let me write! Please tell me what you think!
Thank You
He covered her icy hands with his young warm ones and knelt gently beside the soft bed. Her chest rose and fell slowly, each breath draining more life and energy out of her frail body. Her skin was a pale white, her red hair streaked with grey. Harry knew it wouldn't be long until he lost her. Until he lost the only mother he had ever really known.
She opened her eyes slowly, and smiled weakly at the young man next to her. He knew she was saying goodbye. Molly gave his hands one last motherly squeeze and closed her eyes. Not long after her chest stopped moving and her hands fell limp in his.
He sat with her for what seemed like ages before his tears came. She was gone, but he thought he saw a faint smile on her lips. She was finally free. Free of the worrying, of the pain of losing her family, just free. Molly Weasley was the only mother he had ever known, and he wouldn't give the world to miss the time he had spent with her. He only wished he could have told her how much she meant to him, as a mother and a friend.
"There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go
I never said thank you for that
Thought I might get one more chance
What would you think of me now?
So lucky
So strong
So proud
Never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have the chance
If you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big god wouldn't let it live
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in"
She had given everything she could, and he was a better person because of her warmth, love, and support when things got hard. She had given him advice when he needed it and a place he called home. Harry stood slowly and folded her hands gently, and gave them one last squeeze. "Thank you, Mom." He whispered softly, and exited the quiet room. A ray of moonlight shone onto Molly Weasley's face showing a flicker of a smile as a glowing angel swept down and kissed her forehead softly, leading her quietly away.
"On sleepless roads the sleepless go,
May angels lead you in."
