It was said that he was crazy, and Illumix was told he would never achieve anything of great importance. The townsfolk of his home, Port Treble, often picked on his claims, causing him to leave the town at a young age of fifteen. He had no family, no friends, and no belongings except for his staff, which was made of birch wood and emerald by ancient magic. Illumix knew he wouldn't be able to start off with ease, but he looked to the future with optimism, and the confidence that he would be able to find what he found years before...
The square sun began to rise in the East, and the clouds slowly cleared away to show a blue sky with great potential. A young boy lays in the dew covered grass, and smiles up at the sky, his eyes closed. Yellow flowers surround him, and a house rests by itself not far from him. It is a small house with brick foundations and an oaken roof. It is a mere one story, but is large enough to hold several rooms. Past the house, a town can be seen faintly, and a farm is closer still to the house than the town, with a large field of wheat and stables. A house or two is also along the path nearby. As the boy watches the Sun, a woman comes out of the house. She holds a spade and a hoe in her hand, walking towards the boy in the grass. "Illumix." The woman speaks quietly. "Do you wish to hear of the news I have for you?" Illumix opens his bright green eyes and looks at her. "Yes sister, tell me of your news." He sits up and she, a lady of about nineteen kneels beside him with her stone tools. "I have found a man who can do my work for me today at the farm, and he promised to give my pay to me. I can take you to see the temple today if you would like." She smiled an affectionate smile to her younger brother, who appeared to be around the age of seven. "You mean the one in the stories, Lora?" Illumix's young and excited voice squeaked from the great joy that suddenly swelled inside him. Lora smiled brightly, and pushed her neatly brushed black hair behind her shoulders, reaching down with her other hand gently to help him up. "Let us go now, it is a long trip, and it will be an adventure."
