Hart to Hart

Fighting Hart

A tunnel is all she could see as a voice that sounded so far away continued to call out to her. Jennifer was sitting in the chair of the office of Lilly von Borg. While the cops were wrapping up the arrests of Lilly and Miles; Jonathan was on his knees holding his wife's hand trying his best to bring her back from the brink.

"Jennifer can you hear me?" Jonathan asked.

Jennifer remained quiet as she sat there looking at the pale wall zoned out. Lt. Gray walked over to Jonathan he looked at the state of Jennifer and shook his head he wasn't an expert at this kind of thing but he could tell it was some sort of trauma.

"Did you call Dr. Chase?" Jonathan asked.

"Yeah we left him a message." Lt. Grey replied.

Jonathan felt a mixture of sadness and anger build within him, he wanted to run down stairs and strangle Lily for what she did to his wife. He knew that wouldn't do him any good. Soon the phone rang; Lt. Grey picked it up and handed the receiver to Jonathan.

"Hello Dr. Chase?"

"Hello Mr. Hart, I got the message from a Lt. Grey regarding Mrs. Hart." The doctor said over the phone.

"Yes she's still not responding."

There was a brief silence over the phone before Dr. Chase spoke again.

"Something traumatic has happened that she can't accept it, thus her catatonic state. Perhaps a shock to the system can snap her out of it." The doctor explained.

Jonathan felt Jennifer squeeze his hand he also noticed a few tears trickle down her cheeks, perhaps she wasn't as far gone as he thought.

"Thank you Dr. Chase."

Jonathan hanged up the phone and took a long deep breath he wasn't sure if this would work, but it did hurt to try. He moved his lips up to Jennifer's and laid a deep passionate kiss upon her lips. Before he pulled away Lt. Grey noticed Jennifer blinking her eyes. The detective smirked it was like out of a fairy tale As the two of them came up for air Jennifer noticed where they were, it felt like a head rush remembering all thing things she did while under Lilly's influence, even aiming a gun at her husband.

"Jonathan…I almost shot you." Jennifer said.

"But you didn't." Jonathan said.

Jennifer looked away from her husband but he merely lifted her chin and looked deep within her eyes. He then helped his wife up to her feet; while he wanted to keep talking Jonathan thought it would be best if they discussed this elsewhere. Jonathan helped Jennifer into the car and then hopped into the driver seat. In a matter of moments the two of them were on the road. He looked over to Jennifer to see her looking down at the floor, she was filled with shame that she almost shot her husband but she couldn't figure out why she didn't pull the trigger.

"No matter how much Lilly played with your mind I know deep down you couldn't do it." Jonathan said.

Jennifer looked up from the floor at her darling husband. She gently touched the side of Jonathan's face before laying a nice kiss on his cheek. Jennifer could feel the last effects of Van Borg's power over her fade away. The tunnel was gone she could see everything so clearly now.

"I think I know why."

"Oh and what's that darling?" Jonathan asked.

"It's because I love you so much." Jennifer said.

Jonathan smiled as he came to a stop at a red light; the two of them shared a wonderfully deep kiss before the light turned green.

Now the Harts finally know that their love is a bond so strong that even hypnotism can't break it.
