NOTE: This story takes place after the Sohma Curse is broken and takes place in my little headcanon/fanverse. That does not mean you cannot enjoy it without knowing the OCs or the premise. Now on with the show.
"Um, Tohru…" Kyo rubbed the back of his head while Tohru turned around to look at him. She gave him that ditzy, but sweet smile of hers that made his face go red and his heart pound. He gulped while she waited for him to talk.
"Yes, Kyo?" She asked, keeping her hand on the pan.
"Um," he paused. But she was patient. She always was. He fidgeted with the package behind his back. He felt nervous about doing this. Man, romance was not his strong suit. Forget it! "Happywhiteday!" He said as he thrust the package at her. She recoiled in surprise before she smiled and took it.
"Thank you!" she chirped. Kyo smiled and watched her opened it. Her face beamed when she got a look at the item inside. "Kyo! It's wonderful!" she said. Kyo smiled from ear to ear before she kissed him on the cheek. "An onigiri egg! I love it!"
"You're welcome," he replied. She hugged him and he squeezed back. "You know what would make this better?"
"What's that?"
"If Jimmy and everyone else wasn't watching." He looked and glared at his teammates Jimmy Michaels, Josh Hanson and Byron Johnson sitting on the couch and passing around a bowl of popcorn.
"Oh, come on, this is getting good!" said Jimmy.
"Jimmy, I asked you to leave the apartment," said Kyo.
"Are you kidding?," said Hanson.
"You two make such a good couple, we couldn't help but watch!" said Johnson.
"Exactly, now get down on one knee and pop the question already," said Jimmy. That was the first time Kyo ever chased the UCF quarterback out of his own apartment.
