Hart to Hart

Strong Hart

It was nighttime in California around midnight to be exact, while most people across the state were asleep in their bed at the Hart residence one woman was awake. Jennifer Hart looked over at her sleeping husband the content smile across his face almost brought the redhead to tears. It's been only a few days since Jonathan's kidnapping, with him home safe and sound Jennifer's mind began to wonder if their life has become too dangerous. As she continued to watch her husband sleep with his broken arm and various bruises Jennifer could only sigh. Sitting up in bed Jennifer looked over at her husband once more time before getting up and walking downstairs.

Once downstairs Jennifer found herself walking into the kitchen she brewed herself a pot of coffee. The moment it was ready she poured the brown liquid into her mug and sat down at the table. She took a sip as she remembered all the dangers they faced over the years. She blinked away a few tears remembering threatening people like Peggy Mullen, Robin Wall and Ford Bebe. Their life was too dangerous why couldn't they let the proper authorities handle it. Jennifer continued to drink her coffee silently crying out to no one

Upstairs Jonathan woke up to find his darling wife no longer next to him. With a grunt he found himself sitting up in the bed. He turned on the lights and slipped his hand back in the sling. Then he stood up leaving the room to look for his wife.

As he walked down the stair he noticed Max in the living room peeking into the kitchen. The butler turned to see Mr. H who looked rather confused.

"What's going on Max?" Jonathan asked

" It's Mrs. H, she's been down here for hours crying her eyes out I think your kidnapping might have been the last straw." Max whispered.

Jonathan thought back to when they first came home, Jennifer did everything for him she even wanted to go to work with him. While he was also scared it was her that gave him the strength to survive. As he peaked into the kitchen he could see his wife crying as she attempted to drink her first cup of coffee. His wife was strong just like him, but perhaps this time it became too much to handle. Jonathan knew what he had to do, he looked to Max who nodded and he walked into the kitchen.

Jennifer looked up from her cup of coffee to see Jonathan set down her coffee mug. He then took a hold of her hands and helped Jennifer to her feet. Jonathan looked into her lovely green eyes and laid a kiss on her lips and gave her a hug. The two of them stood there in the middle of the floor rocking back and forth to their own music. Another flood of tears escaped Jennifer's eyes as she buried her head in his chest. Jonathan didn't say a word for he knew what his wife needed. He continued rocking his wife letting her cry. After a few hours Jennifer took a long deep breath and looked up into her husband's eyes. She wanted to say something, but she couldn't think of what to say so she kissed him deeply on the lips. Jonathan returned the kiss with the same passion.

Soon the two of them were smiling, something Jennifer couldn't do since her husband's return.

"Thank you." Jennifer said when she found her voice.

"No problem." Jonathan replied.

Max watched them for a few moments before walking back upstairs; he lay on his bed with a content sigh. He could hear Mr. and Mrs. H walked past his room heading back to their bedroom. While neither of them said a word he knew everything would be alright. For the Harts were strong but every now and then even they become vulnerable, it can't be helped there only human.
