There were no more heroes to die,
The only hope was a lie,
Chaos fell down from above?

Civilization all but drowned,
Anarchy and destruction were crowned,
Leaving nothing behind in their wake?

Our hopes and homes burned,
Flames raged like a lover spurned,
There was nothing left to hold onto?

There were no more tears to cry,
No more emotions to sigh,
Only the echo of silence?

There was no more silver laughter,
No more sunrise to follow after,
Only a spiral of death?

We could rise from the ashes,
Rise from the hundred lashes,
Start down the path to redemption?
