As she continued to look at her TV, the political figures on the screen slowly became fuzzy dots. A droplet fell onto her hand and for the first time tonight, Santana realized she was crying.

This wasn't new. Santana was known for crying. She cried when she was drunk, when she was sad, when she was frustrated, and when she was scared. But now she was crying because she was watching C-SPAN, probably the most boring television channel ever.

Ok, maybe C-SPAN wasn't entirely to blame. It was just the vessel. The vessel that delivered the ground breaking moment to her room. To her eyes.

She had fallen in love with New York City when the glee club went to Nationals. When she could steal away, she tried to see everything she could. Greenwich Village, Tribeca, Chelsea. She had looked at the people and had seen how happy and open and free they seemed to be and she wanted that. She knew after that trip that New York was where she wanted to be.

And she wanted Brittany there with her.

Even though they weren't officially together, Santana could not stop thinking about the possibilities. What if she actually moved to New York and Brittany came with her. What if they were together, like really together, in the best city on earth? What if, one day, she asked Brittany to marry her and Brittany said yes?

The feeling of her bed dipping was her first indication that someone else was in her bedroom. She looked to her left through watery eyes to see the one person she loved the most in this world.

"Hey Santana. I came over because Kurt told me about what happened in New York and I thought we could celebrate."

Santana looked into the beautiful blue eyes and in that moment could not stop the tears from streaming down her face.

"Santana, I thought you'd be happy. Why are you crying?"

She was known for crying. But she had never cried when she was happy.

"I am happy Britt. I'm – I'm just really happy."

Brittany gave her the most amazing smile.

"Well good. Because now, you can ask a girl to get married and if she says yes, you could get married in your favorite city."

"Yeah, Britt," she said between sniffles.

"And maybe, if I'm lucky, you'll ask me."

For the first time tonight, Santana let out a laugh. If she was lucky, Brittany would say yes.
