Disclaimer: I do not own Jonny Quest or related characters.
A/N: This idea popped into my head and demanded to be written, so here it is. Also, gotta feel sorry for Jess sometimes, she's the only girl in a house full of guys. (Oh, there must have been some really awkward moments for her...)
Before leaving for the supermarket that morning, Race entered Estella's office and opened the middle desk drawer. Instantly he was glad he checked, since Estella's chocolate stash was all but gone. Race knew he wouldn't survive one of 'those' weeks if Estella was out of chocolate. Making a mental note to pick up some while at the store, he slid the drawer shut then left the office.
Race would never forget how he used to keep a close eye on Estella's chocolate stash. That woman turned into a bear when it was that time of the month, and Race preferred to keep his head on his shoulders. Chocolate helped Estella, which in turn helped Race stay in one piece.
To his dismay, Race was beginning to find Jessie wasn't much better when it came to that time.
Over the last few days she'd had a really bad temper, snapping at him, Jonny, Hadji (which was surprising), and even Dr. Quest. It hadn't taken Sherlock Holmes to figure out what was going on... well, not for him or Dr. Quest to figure out. Poor Jonny and Hadji were still confused and neither man saw any reason to fill them in on it.
The week wasn't over yet however, which is why Race found himself in this part of the store.
Jessie retreated to her room, needing to get away from Jonny before she tore his head off. She knew he wasn't entirely to blame for her current state, but it was really easy to blame him when he was being annoying. She stopped in her tracks finding a bag of chocolate - Hershey's Kisses, her favorite - sitting on her bed. There was a post-it note stuck to it with "Don't eat it all at once" written in her father's handwriting.
Making a mental note to thank her father, Jessie eagerly tore open the bag. That was one thing the thirteen-year-old missed about living with her mother, there was no chocolate stash to raid. Jessie hadn't even thought about building up her own chocolate stash here until it had been too late. Fortunately however, she wouldn't have to worry about it now. She had chocolate.
And chocolate made everything better.
A/N: I'm not being stereotypical here. I know it's different for all girls (chocolate personally doesn't make any difference in my mood), I just imagine both Jessie and Estella are the type that desperately need chocolate during that time. Or anytime they're in a bad mood, really.
